@11 -- "but the chicken shit wing of the Democratic party is ready to crown Hillary if Bernie doesn't win a landslide in California."

OMG, the Democratic party is prepared to nominate the person who has the most votes? Those monsters! You'd almost think we're living in a democracy or something. :\

Feb 10 Beth in NJ commented on Could the Federal Trade Commission Ban Gay "Conversion Therapy" for Good?.
"That same year, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie signed a bill banning therapists from attempting to force their patients to change their sexual orientation."

This is one of the few good things Christie has done as governor of my state, but, sadly, his tenure as governor is not as "former" as one might wish.

Why should they listen to anything Jesus had to say about money when they refuse to even listen to what he said about prayer?

Matthew 6:5: "When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full."

Somehow, they read that and come away with the idea that anyone who doesn't let them force their prayers on an entire public school, or who doesn't want to subsidize their holiday decorations with our taxes, is oppressing them.

People like WSID's fiancé are the reason why Dan came up with "DTMFA." I seriously hope she dumped this manipulative POS.

I can't see how Amazon is the bad guy in this scenario. Textbooks are ridiculously expensive, and most students are strapped for cash as it is. Anyone who can save them money is the GOOD guy, not the bad guy, and the guy who is whining about losing sales to someone who offered a better price gets no sympathy from me.

To me, "either with prayer or with desire" is a huge deal. I really appreciate the fact that he so openly admits that prayer is not necessary to be a good person who desires peace.
Nov 29, 2013 Beth in NJ commented on Teabaggers Outraged to Learn That President Obama Called Teabaggers "Tea-baggers".
I don't think we should call them "teabaggers" anymore. I think we need to come up with a term that describes them more accurately -- like "scumbaggers" or "douchebaggers" or something along those lines.
Nov 29, 2013 Beth in NJ commented on Black Friday: White Women Fighting for Rachel Ray Cookware at Tennessee WalMart.
I'm not disgusted at it so much as baffled. I hate crowds, and because of that I can't imagine any sale good enough that it would get me anywhere near any retail store on Black Friday. It could be something really, really expensive that I desperately want, and they could be giving it away for free, and it still wouldn't be a good enough deal to get me into the store on Black Friday. I actually try to avoid retail stores pretty much from Thanksgiving until after Christmas is over.

Why do these moron have such a hard time grasping the difference between us trying to prevent them from celebrating Christmas (which we aren't) and us trying to prevent them from forcing us to celebrate Christmas?

The very concept of the "War on Christmas" always makes me think of this cartoon:

Nov 12, 2013 Beth in NJ commented on "Not Racist," Republican Style.
So, basically they're complaining about us calling them racist because that term doesn't go far enough -- they're saying "We're not racist, we're xenophobic!" Yeah, because that's just so much better!
