New Garfunkel and Oates.
"really? this is slog-worthy?"
Lists of fictional dogs are okay, but this isn't? I'm pretty sure that the only requirement that something is slog-worthy is a) you work at The Stranger, and b) you want to post something. That's it.

Whatever, Overpopulation..
@5 - there has always been a proportion of the world population that lives in perpetual starvation. As the total population grows, so does that segment. It hardly goes to show that we're overpopulated.
@4 - I'd bet the farm on it. If I am wrong, though, that farm would be worth a lot of money.

Media Matters vs. Lou Dobbs.
Racially-charged paranoia? It's not necessarily racist to believe idiotic conspiracy theories about whether the president is eligible to be president. Some people said McCain didn't qualify because he was born in Panama, and he's about as white as you can get.

R-71: The Signature Count.
@4 - I'm not as liberal as they get, but I support releasing names. Petition signatures should always be public, regardless of the issue. That way we can be sure it's valid.

Birther Meltdown.
The birthers are now conceding that yes, he was born in Hawaii. BUT, because his dad was born in Kenya, he was a British citizen, which made Obama a dual citizen at birth, and thus not a 'natural born' citizen.
I wonder if they are the same people who used to believe Obama was born in Kenya, or is really the son of Malcolm X, or whatever. I'm glad this story came back, it's extraordinarily entertaining.

No Way.
I love dogs, meat from animals that aren't my pets, and Michael Vick.
I think Sarah Palin is incompetent and an embarassment to Republicans, but for reasons other than her inane bounty on wolves.

Starting Off on the Bad Foot.
That last sentence is hilarious. It's not good, but it does make me want to keep reading. Possibly with a drink in my hand.

Last Night's Colbert Report.
Didn't the Daily Show have a segment about PETA getting pissed at the president for swatting a fly last week?
Just because they mention an issue doesn't mean it's being taken seriously yet.

What He Said.
Yeah, that wouldn't be viewed as a transparent attempt to capitalize politically on a private matter, would it?
