What a heartwarming Biblical passage, full of the wisdom of The Lord! ...it's good to see the Bible is as relevant today as it ever was!
Praise God for this Good News!! And pass the offering plate!

Suicide Pact Contract
I would say vote for the offer if McNerney would agree to take a 1% salary increase every other year.
Jimbo, you've got to be kidding! ...while you & your fellow good-ol-boys fatten up on your stock options & your gigantic multi-million-dollar bonuses, you're asking your most talented workers to give back almost everything they've worked hard for. Your GE-born treachery serves you well, until reality sets in. Did you not learn anyting from your 787 outsourcing fiascos? Maybe it's because the Boeing inbred board did not penalize you at all for your toxic decisions ...so now you think you can keep skating & continue making irresponsible decisions about Boeing's future. One of these days it's gonna come back to haunt you ...if there's any justice in this world. [...smirks from Jimbo in his Chicago ivory tower...]
Here's a clue, Jimbo: Boeing is *not* you, or your fellow inbred board members ...Boeing *is* its talented workers, who have served far longer & far more capably than you or any other GE-trained phony. Wake up before you inflict any more damage on this great company ...and before you find yourself & your arrogant attitude booted out.

That's one heck of a proverb! Bravo to God for composing that one!!
...but my favorite - by way of Pope Woody I - is this one:
"...The lamb and the lion shall lie down together ...but the lamb won't get much sleep!"
commented on The Seattle Police Department Disables Its Mesh Network (the New Apparatus Capable of Spying on You)
It really gets me when people say you shouldn't worry if you have nothing to hide. To express that opinion is to ignore American history, and to discount the very recent history of abuses by the burgeoning Law Enforcement Industrial Complex in general, and the Seattle Police Dept in particular.
Not that long ago in America, at the highest levels of our government, we had the ignominious McCarthy witch hunts, where countless peoples' lives were ruined over misguided - and i would say criminal - accusations of "communist sympathizing". Zealots in power in this country have invented an ongoing string of bogey men to justify wars, nefarious prosecutions & other atrocities ...be it alcohol (blame nutcase religious women's groups for fanning the flames), or demon weed (imagine if our white bread suburban kids become uncontrollable jazz musicians); or left-wingers (i.e., anyone who aspires to more than white-picket-fence America); or Al Qaeda (exploited by the insanely-canny Bush administration to take us into a disastrous war of choice) ...the list goes on & on.
The Seattle Police Department has no business engaging in this kind of clandestine behavior. Can we trust them to do the right thing? Of course not! Seattle Police have routinely engaged in egregious behavior, because they can (full disclosure: I do believe the great majority of Seattle cops are very decent people, with good intentions). But *no* police organization - and that certainly includes the out-of-control NSA - should be doing this kind of surveillance *without reasonable regulatory control*. One of the first things Mayor Murray should do is to make absolutely clear that this type of behavior by our police is NOT EVER ACCEPTABLE.
We don't live in a police state, we don't want to live in a police state. Fuck the Dept of Homeland Security, another out-of-control law enforcement agency that's gotten just a little bit too big for its britches. And bravo to Matt Fikse-Verkerk & Brendan Kiley for shining a spotlight on this ugly episode. And shame on the Seattle City Council for letting this happen in the first place!
commented on Boeing CEO Jim McNerney Is a Super-Rich, Sniveling Serpent-Beast
McNerney came from GE, where he learned how to marginalize his talented workers under the tutelage of one Neutron Jack Welch - that's right, the Queen of GE who acquired wildly-divergent companies, laid off tens of thousands of workers, and enriched himself to the tune of $900 million. The squeaky-voiced Welch justified his rapacious behavior by touting how much GE stock appreciated during his ruthless reign - "remember, without ME, the CEO, on my throne, GE workers wouldn't have been been able to do anything". When GE's stock subsequently plummeted & its new CEO began dismantling the unwieldy & unfocused conglomerate, how much of his ill-gotten mega-dollars did Jack Welch agree to give back? You guessed it! Zip. Zilch. Nada.
And now McNerney, who presided over the disastrous decisions to outsource the majority of work on the revolutionary new 787 - rather than focus Boeing's own highly-talented resources on the considerable engineering challenges of new materials technology & advanced electronics - was not at all penalized, by the good ol' boy Boeing board of directors (which McNerney conveniently chairs), for the cost overruns & several-years delays on Dreamliner deliveries. Instead he has seen his compensation soar, at the expense of 1000's of Boeing's best & brightest ...truly shameful.
