May 9 doodle4395 commented on SL Letter of the Day: What Kind of Straight Guys Watch Gay Porn?.
@12, the assumption that the writer means gay male porn, other than the fact that for whatever reason, "gay" alone usually refers to men, probably comes from the fact that she asks why men who watch gay porn are assumed to be gay, which is not the assumption you make when men watch porn featuring gay women.

If a man is already willing to break the law by raping someone, why would anyone think he'd be unwilling to break the law by going into the women's bathroom? Incidentally, where is it against the law for cis people to go into the bathroom of the opposite sex?

@10, I'm not sure that falling in love with/marrying a closeted person makes you evil, nor does it mean that you should accept that you "fucked up her life for 30-40 years". Being gay isn't a bad thing, but neither is being straight.

Pro-lifers call me a monster because I don't think a fetus has the same worth as a born baby, thus how I can support legal abortion and not legal infanticide. This woman appears to view fetuses as nothing but evidence. Who's dehumanizing now?

Incidentally, I know it's not really fair, but I always get a little sad when I see women being stupid like this. Yeah, men should know better, but I'm not surprised by men's ridiculousness over abortion anymore. Women, though, I hold to a higher standard.

It may very well be true that those boys would have been decent people if it weren't for how society has treated them, but there's a limit to how far that goes. Plenty of abusive parents were abused as children; that's obviously a terrible thing, and it's possible that they wouldn't be abusive if they hadn't been abused, but that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. While teenage boys may not fully understand the consequences of their actions, they do realize--or should realize, at least--that rape is bad. It's not like that's a very difficult concept.
Jan 7 doodle4395 commented on You're a Sex Addict, I'm a Sex Addict, We're All Sex Addicts.
Have I ever hidden a sexual behavior from someone? My grandmother is a very traditional woman; I've chosen to let her believe that I didn't have sex before I was married. I don't know that that makes me a sex addict.
And apparently my answers are consistent with men who struggle with compulsive sexual behavior, women who struggle with compulsive sexual behavior, and homosexual men who struggle with compulsive sexual behavior. I'm not sure if the first "men" had an implied heterosexual there or if homosexual men just aren't men or what. Would that mean I'd be okay if I were a lesbian?
And @16, I get where you're coming from, but a higher power really doesn't have to be God or any variation thereof. Mine is singing. And what would you propose as an alternative? Unless you want judges to force people to pay for rehab, there aren't all that many options.

@13, I'm going to assume that means that you either support welfare or have adopted numerous children yourself.
Aug 23, 2012 doodle4395 commented on Republican Steve King Has Never Heard of a Girl Getting Pregnant from Statutory Rape or Incest.
@39, I've seen people say that, but that doesn't make any sense either. The question was, "Should a 12-year-old girl who's pregnant have to carry the child to term?" His answer was, basically, "I don't know any 12-year-old girls who are pregnant." That doesn't even start to answer the question unless he's meaning to imply that it isn't really an issue because it doesn't happen.

"Why We Oppose Votes For Men:
1. Because man's place is in the army.
2. Because no really manly man wants to settle any question otherwise than by fighting about it.
3. Because if men should adopt peacable methods women will no longer look up to them.
4. Because men will lose their charm if they step out of their natural sphere and interest themselves in other matters than feats of arms, uniforms, and drums.
5. Because men are too emotional to vote. Their conduct at baseball games and political conventions show this, while their innate tendency to appeal to force renders them particularly unfit for the task of government."

I honestly hate those bullshit "I'm sorry if you're offended" apologies. It's not just not an apology; it's an attack. It's saying that the other person was the one who was wrong, because they're just so sensitive that you'll have to be the bigger person.
