@ 5, Nigeria is pretty much 50/50 Christian and Muslim.

I know from experience that Nigeria is quite pretty

@1, I agree. Should have been Michael Fassbender.

Eh, I dunno Dan, my ex was conventionally hot (really hot) and a virgin until he was 22. He was just pathologically shy and extremely picky.

I am sorry he and his wife have to go through this but I've never been a fan of Weiner. He's been in his AIPAC's pocket for way too long (as has everyone in congress but Weiner is way more vocal than his closest colleague which says something) and is somewhat racist even when it comes to expressing his unconditional support of Israel. I still can't forget his "Palestinian terrorist bags" comment. Anyway, I like everything else he does but a small part of me is smiling.

@33, yeah but that's probably because we're one of the few countries that a) play baseball b) watch baseball. Baseball just isn't very popular anywhere in the world except for the US, Canada and possibly Japan.

I don't know, I think he had a legitimate reason to look at her phone... I guess, like Dan, I don't have a very strict privacy policy. I think that if you sneak around and are dishonest with your significant other you should expect them to be suspicious of you for a limited period of time. However, I agree that if he wants to be with her he has to learn to forgive her eventually and should be working towards that goal.

The girlfriend just sounds generally dishonest and whiny to me. She had to cheat on him because he was working on a goal. Really? He would probably be better off without her.

Y'know, I've never been pregnant but I hope to be someday and I think I would be happy at the idea of my future husband being turned on by my breast milk. I am already so terrified by all the horror stories of men being turned off by their wives post-labor , I dunno, that particular kink would make me very very very happy.

I am sorry guys the LW is a total asshole.

I may be approaching it from a completely different POV because I think cheating is very rarely, and I mean, VERY rarely acceptable. I am not sure if the LW had an arrangement with his wife but it doesn't seem like it-- this seems to be a case of straight up cheating.

What really strikes me here is that he doesn't seem to have ANY empathy for his 15 year old daughter whose life he turned upside down with his greediness and stupidity. What a jerk-- yes, she should be told that what she did is wrong but the LW is not reacting like a concerned father here, he just wants to get back at her for founding out about his deception.

And, yes, kids should be kept out of their parent's sex lives but let's not pretend that the state of their parent's marriage, which very often involves sex lives, is unimportant to their well-being. Children notice more than anyone thinks.

No, you're correct, I definitely don't think it is a bad thing for her to be aware that she may need to protect herself. However, I think there is a knee-jerk reaction amongst liberal/non-religious circles that every religious man, this stereotype is applied especially to muslim men, is somehow creepy and dangerous. That these men are always abusive and violent especially towards women. In my experience this is just not true-- I haven't encountered any violence in the religious circles I've struggled with, maybe some chauvinism and these people were always open to challenge. I also want to point out that internal struggle doesn't generally lead to outward violence. Maybe I was lucky and I definitely think the LW should be aware of all the possibilities and keep an eye towards her safety. I just don't think that we should jump to the conclusion, without evidence, that this guy, who is obviously going through a hard time, is dangerous just because he's struggling with religious scruples.
