commented on SL Letter of the Day: More Advice From Sex At Dawn Coauthor Christopher Ryan
Why is it that every time a monogamous partner ends up with a non-monogamous partner, the advice is, "People don't change...but here are the various ways you, the monogamous one, can and should"?
When the non-monogamous partner writes in, it's always, "Go ahead and break up with them now because you can't change, but if you want to try to make it work, here are ways to get them to change."

This same thing happened here in Cali after Prop 8 was passed. Pre-election, they were threatening everyone that if they donated money to "No on Prop 8", they would expose them for the homo-loving freaks they are. Once Prop 8, and our side went, "Ok, we're now going to expose you for the bigoted assholes you are", and released the names of their contributors, they started screaming about discrimination and a need for campaign reform. Assholes.

@34: War on smokers? I guess the fact that I can't drink whiskey in my car means that there's a war on whiskey drinkers as well, right?
Oh yeah, that's a sound argument. Way to go. By all means, have some whiskey and drive tonight.
As for the rest of it, the last time I checked, this was America. Freedom of choice. I'm not a smoker, but this is bullshit. Considering the fact that there is no socialized healthcare and we all pay for our own health insurance, I'm pretty sure smokers aren't costing us a dime. They can do whatever the hell they want to themselves. Smoking indoors has already been outlawed which was totally reasonable; that's as far as it should go.
And yeah, Savage, I love you and all, but what the hell. Legalization or not. You can't argue for legalizing all drugs (including fucking heroin) and then argue for criminalizing cigarettes.
