I want to send Larry Sick-ney a note thanking him for giving the voters of the State of Washington the chance to make history by expanding the rights of LGBT people through the popular vote.

Secretary of State website shows T-71 APPROVE 52.5 to 47.5

@4 when I say we I mean it in the most general sense in that I have volunteered whenever I have had time. I can tell you the office is very lightly staffed.

What has worked for me is to just let them know what I am doing through their events site. Printing some stickers and palm cards and taking charge.
I agree with @5 just take charge they have materials for printing on the website. Go for it!

This is great news it means that our efforts are working.

But remember this is the first all mail-in ballot it is hard to know who likely voters really are. Keep telling your friends and loved ones to turn in their ballots. Of the 5 people I work most closely with only one has sent in her ballot and I have been reminding them all daily since the 16th!

Where ever you are, talk to the people you are dealing with; colleagues, farmers at the farmer’s market, wait people, any where you are having idle conversations.

Remind them to put the ballot in the mail. Tell them you will ask them again next time you see them. And tell them how important this is to you.

This is the same Portland with more strip clubs then San Francisco and Seattle combined... right?

If anything it is we who should be concerned about their depravity spurting all over the face of our fair city.

#10 from what position of authority do you speak? Have you done any research into effective strategy? Volunteered anytime? Donated any money? Written a letter to the editor? Talked to anyone about the importance of approving 71?

If you have great I would urge you to share this research with the slog but at this point I thinking bitching about the strategy that is being deployed. A strategy that almost 250 organizations from across the geographic, political, faith & age spectrum have gotten behind is a bit foolish. We each and every one of us needs to do everything we can to ensure Referendum 71 is APPROVEd.

In the Seattle area we don’t need to change minds but get people to send in their ballots. In old age homes we need to show seniors (who vote in large numbers) how this will affect people “like them”. In Eastern Washington we need to change minds so yes I think having Charlene there is going to help the campaign.

“If we each do a little is sure means a lot”

@4 Charlene is currently touring Eastern Washington speaking at old age homes, community centers etc.

The ERW education fund has also just released this ad http://equalrightswashington.org/amiprot… in various markets around the State. Although not a campaign commercial it is out in lots of Eastern Washington Markets,

This is a great commercial make sure everyone you know sees it! The right is about to dump a whole lotta money in to Washington State. If you or someone you know can contribute $5,000 or more you have got to do it before the 12th. www.APPROVE71.org/donate

Doorbelling will begin the 16th.

Once you receive your ballot send it back ASAP then start asking your friends if they have sent in theirs. Remember only about 50% of voters in San Francisco voted in the last election. Traditionally off year elections bring low voter turnout with a high percentage of them being conservative voters. With so many important issues on the ballot this year (Dow Constantine, No on 1033, APPROVE 71) we need to make sure progressives are voting en mass.

Phone banking happening every night of the week from the downtown office and on Saturdays in Georgetown and around the state at various locations sign up here http://approvereferendum71.org/volunteer….

When we tell our stories we win.

It is good to see that they are now admitting their desire to turn Washington into a Christian theocracy. I do hope that religious peoples outside of the x-tian tradition are paying attention to this ad… “first they came for the…”

My one concern is that this will make voters especially Seattle voters think that their campaign is so inept it can’t win.

We need to donate to APPROVE71.org volunteer our time and energy and most importantly VOTE and remind our friends and loved ones to vote.

Don’t let the theocrats win.
