@25--
Totally freak accident. She got that first shot off fine. No one could have predicted something bad would happen. Shame on Dan for politicizing this completely unforeseeable tragedy.
========================

It's not an accident. An accident would be if someone tripped and spilled their coffee. This was negligence.

Couldn't be predicted?
The interchangeable terms muzzle rise, muzzle flip and muzzle climb refer to the tendency of firearms or pneumatic arms front end (muzzle end of the barrel) to rise up after firing.[1]

so yeah, it's a known consequence. Not only was it foreseeable, it should have been expected.

Wow. People are rude. You can't express a contrary opinion without a slew of pejoratives being unleashed. I don't know how these people were raised.

This is from the Wonga.com web site, just one of many similar products available in the UK.

Representative example

Amount of credit: £150 for 18 days. Interest: £27.99. Interest rate: 365%pa (fixed).
Transmission fee: £5.50. One total repayment of: £183.49. Representative 5853% APR.

Yep. You see that correctly. Representative apr of 5,853%. If you had bought Google stock on the day of it's IPO, you wouldn't have done anywhere near this well.

Emailed the following to this idiot and his boss:

You want to force a minor to have a medical procedure against his will and the will of his legal guardian?

What kind of doctor would even agree to this?

Have you considered the side effects of this injection?

A 30 second Google search yielded the following:

Side Effects

Injections occasionally can result in a painful, prolonged erection (priapism). Call your doctor if an erection lasts longer than 3 hours. If the erection isn't relieved, it may damage tissues inside the penis.

Other side effects of injections may include:

Bruising.
Pain in the penis (usually mild to moderate). Pain in the penis was reported by about 4 out of 10 men in one study. Injecting the medicine slowly may help prevent pain. Only a few men stop using the medicine because of pain.
Formation of scar tissue in the penis (fibrosis).

For the sake of everyone, resign before you do even more harm.

What kind of doctor would agree to give this child an injection against his will and against the will of his legal guardian?

The injection they want to give him isn't necessarily an innocuous substance.

What the fuck is wrong with these people.

Personally, I wouldn't trust anyone who would withhold their affection for a pet (who has depended on them their entire lives to keep them safe and provided for) just because I was so insecure.

And I certainly wouldn't want to date anyone who would expect me to.

A friend of mine's words to his homophobic mother: You need a son a hell of a lot more right now than I need a mother.

She's mourning the loss of something that never existed.

For some people, their credo is "It's not enough that I'm happy. Everyone else must be miserable."

I rarely read letters here that I just completely don't understand. This is one of them. I've read about many kinks that left me shaking my head, and a few that piqued my interest that I gave them a whirl. Some stuck, some didn't.

While I don't get this guys particular desires, i feel for him, since it doesn't appear that there's really a responsible, safe, healthy way for him to indulge it. You can be flogged until you're bruised, but those bruises will fade away. This guys options are permanent, and are going to lead to chronic health issues.

Good luck to him no matter the choice he chooses.
Sep 5, 2013 Global Traveler commented on Russia Moves to Take Children From Gay and Lesbian Parents.
I have to say that I get all atingle with jingoism when I see American athletes doing well at the games. Certainly the US media is capable of telling a great, tear inducing story replete with soaring background score to tell one story of triumph after another.

But if the IOC allows these games to go on in Russian, and I've no doubt that they will, then for me they will have tarnished their reputation for the remainder of my lifespan. Don't think it can happen? What does anyone think of the powerhouse that used to be Penn State football. (I'm not equating anything with the despicable acts of Jerry Sandusky.) My point is that no reputation is so solid that it can survive a shit storm of a certain magnitude.
