Mark Kackstetter has a whopping 22 followers on Twitter. I realize he is symptomatic of a larger problem, but I have to admit I roll my eyes a bit when some prominent person on Twitter with tens of thousands of followers starts mixing it up with some random dude who is probably tweeting from his mom's basement.

Initially, I was excited when I saw this episode was over an hour long, but yikes, I wish it had been edited down to 20 minutes -- or less. I listened to it in rush hour traffic this morning, and managed to make it through the whole thing, but it was pretty excruciating.

12 - Thanks for posting that. I got the same response ("The test failed to match you to a Kinsey Type profile. Either you answered some questions wrong, or you are a very unusual person") so I figured I was a unicorn. I figured I'd score either a 1 or a 2.

I just noticed that the URL on the posters is blibög.nu which translates as "be gay now." (.nu, from the island of Niue, has long been a popular top level domain in Sweden because it means "now.") There are lots more of these fun graphics up at http://www.xn--blibg-mua.nu/pride/argume…

Unfortunately, I'm not in Stockholm for Pride, but I was visiting in June and these signs were already starting to appear in town.

Elie Wiesel has complained about the practice of baptizing dead Jews, so I'm sure the Mormons will be only too happy to NOT baptize him by proxy after he dies. Right?!?!?!?

This might have been my favorite Lovecast ever (and I've listened to 'em all). As someone whose (straight) husband is involved in theater, I loved the question about the guy who needed to "come out as straight" to his theater buddies. MORE IRA!!!!

"The gay nephew of the woman he lives with"? I guess he couldn't have been against gay marriage for religious reasons, then, since he obviously thinks sex outside of marriage is A-OK.

I purchased over 30 copies of the book from my local independent bookseller and, after reaching out to school librarians, donated them to schools in my community. (There was a huge fight in my town a couple years ago over an anti-bullying curriculum which some parents tried to shoot down because part of the curriculum was about teaching respect for LGBT students and families. Don't we realize the evangelical Christians are the REAL VICTIMS?) One pleasant surprise: the librarian at the local Catholic high school was thrilled to get them, and I learned they have a gay-straight alliance. The feedback was uniformly positive and I got some really nice follow-up letters. All in all, it was a pretty cool way for a straight, childless, middle-aged person to learn more about what's going on in my town's schools, and I feel very positive about what I saw.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" is the most underrated show on late night TV. On the same post-Oscar episode, there was also a hilarious parody of "Toddlers and Tiaras" starring Tom Hanks. Go find it on YouTube.
