Yoshimi is a gentle intro to the nerd rock that is the Flaming Lips. Follow up with Soft Bulletin, then do as you will. Most people will have a hard time jumping straight into some of their other more "alternative" (for lack of a better word) selections.

Actually, Fnarf, I added both the Washington State liquor tax and the really high sales tax. I believe the price of the bottle was 33.99, the state tax was 6.60 and the sales tax was...6.93? I'm not doing the math right now as I'm leaving for dinner, but that was everything. I added it this morning. I don't lie : )

I've been excited, as I lived in California for a while, where you can buy as much liquor as you want at corner stores all over the place (all of which had plenty of selection).
I went to Safeway this morning to grab some stuff for dinner tonight, and added to my cart one of the same things I always bought at the state store:a 1.75 liter bottle of JD Old #7. Price in the state store? $50.95. Price today (all told, with tax)? $47.56.
I also could have bought a bottle of Pendleton, or Woodford Reserve, but I already have my nicer bottle of whiskey on the shelf here at home.
I'm not really worried about going to Wine World or where ever to buy the more rare items that I rarely buy.

Next time you're going to a show in which you're going to shout and shake your fists like a sports maniac, lemme know. I gotta see that.

"I think they're joking. This sounds like a punk version of the B-52s to me (I still don't know what "punk" means, by the way, other than "kinda shitty at music but in a good way." So that's probably wrong, they're probably rock or something.*) But they definitely sound like they're having a ton of fun."

You totally get it.
They are joking, they are kinda punk rock, and they are DEFINITELY having a ton of fun. Cramps live = one of the best shows I've seen, and I've seen a thousand and something. Also, they are incredibly nice people.

Oh, hey Grant? I meant to say thanks for posting this the other day after I first watched it, but I'm a douche and I forgot. But a bunch of people have thanked me since I reposted it, so I figure I should THANK YOU.

Dec 9, 2011 bella commented on A Heartwarming Story of Parking Ticket Justice.
I once witnessed a PEO about to write me a ticket for a spot that I was good in for a FULL HOUR longer.
I asked just what it was she was doing and as it turned out, she determined the time by looking at her WATCH, (they have those gadgets that print out your ticket, complete with time, you'd think there'd be a better system than just looking at your wristwatch) and misreading it by an hour.
If I hadn't caught her in the act, I'd have gotten a ticket (and the hassle of contesting) for being parked completely legally.

I totally support the Occupy movement, but what @#4 and @#10 said.

Unfortunately, both videos look "faked" somehow to me. I hate to say that, but unless I saw another video that clearly illustrates how the guy ended up on the ground and that his leg really is UNDER the tire...I dunno.

I really hope someone else has a better video.
