I Hate the Airline Industry.
@10: Yes, ask the flight attendants. We really do want to help, and I am very generous about comping cocktails to those passengers who help me out by changing seats. But if that doesn't work, tell whoever refuses to budge that the 6-year-old's tummy problems are only from too many coco-puffs and probably aren't contagious.

Youth Pastor Watch.
I approve of YPW because of the sanctimonious self-importance of all too many members of the religion biz. Like that douche who made a point of writing "Pastor" by her signature on the bill where she refused to tip the waitress (whom she later had fired), and like those who drive around with "Clergy" stickers on their cars, as if it meant "9-11 First Responder" or something...
A friend of mine who has a counseling practice (and whose fellow counselor is a former minister) will not take on clergypeople as clients because they are so rotten about paying their bills!

SL Letter of the Day: Daddy Day Cares.
I have always believed that kids benefit from acquaintance with adults who are not their own parents, to broaden their own perspectives and to recognize that their parents aren't gods. Kudos to the LW and his wife for providing a loving, safe place for these kids and an alternative attitude to their dad's.

Lunchtime Quickie: Drunk of the Week: That Guy On Icelandair.
Airline employee here, and you can rest easy. We're allowed to tape you up like, well, a duct, but we aren't supposed to attach you to a seat (presumably in case of an emergency evacuation, wherein I guess we would roll your taped-up ass to a door and give you a shove). Also, this kind of out behavior is, in my observation, caused not so much by alcohol alone, but by the hilarious combination of alcohol and Ambien, which, as I have told passengers for years, "...is how you end up on YouTube."

Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence.
I propose an additional policy of an owner's complete responsibility for how a gun is used, regardless of who fires it. Shouldn't an owner of a deadly weapon make absolutely, positively sure that no one other than himself has any possible access to that weapon? If a kid gets his hands on it, if it can be and is stolen from the owner, or if someone other than the owner uses it to commit suicide, the owner is held negligent for allowing that weapon to be used.

Holy Crap: More Lazy Obama Supporters "Sleeping Till Noon"!.
Thanks for creating this meme. The right-wing nutjobs would console themselves that they are better people than Obama-supporters (yeah, that'll win votes!) but here's living, breathing proof that they're full of it. Of course, I only need to look at the hardworking people I know and love who voted for Obama.
