The Hidden Part of the new MOHAI.
As a relative newcomer (1993) those old landmark businesses and their signs didn't leave an impression... but Bud's Jazz Records in Pioneer Square with it's handpainted sign marking the steps downward to a basement retail treasure trove...that should be preserved.

SDOT Holds Up Seattle's Pedestrian Master Plan.
I listened to the Feet First rep at my neighborhood meeting in West Seattle. As far as I could tell the planned kiosk had all the charm and function of a mall 'you are here' directory.
Handy case I found myself on Delridge and needed a street diagram to reach the next closest kiosk planned for Admiral... 2.5 miles away.
If walkability is the goal, this ain't a priority.

"My Partner’s Dead.".
@17 technically you are correct; in Wasington state the Public Records Act (42.56 RCW) the intent of the requestor may not be taken into account when evaluating whether a record is subject to disclosure.
But I believe that RC's point is that for a news outlet (blog or msm0 that earns $ through viewership to post that audio has a salacious overtone that casts a broad shadow over any possible positive influence that may occur by making it readily accessible.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Leave Greg Nickels Alone!.
actually Dan, Nickels is still very much the mayor as far as these homeless demonstraters are concerned. The city is mandated by law to pass a budget by December 2 and this group wants it to include a bigger public hand out to them cover the increase in bus fares.
(pretty ballsy since already over half their revenue is from the city, but hey if it works, right?)
@10 camping out at the homes of either Thurston Howell III or the Cookie Monster wouldn't really get them anywhere.
