SL Letters of the Day: Just Say No to DSGs.
@42 that's a huge logical leap you are making. The point was that by the more progressive definitions of rape, there are plenty of 'rapists' out there who *reasonably* believe they're being entirely ethical, that both partners are equally willing to have sex, and that everything is consensual - based on the signs given. Just kissing isn't that sign, but it's the same idea.

Yes, It's Different for Men.
Collins coming out is not historic. He's not the first NBA player to come out, and it was 50/50 that Collins was ever going to see the court again in any case. There are factors now pulling two ways (anti-gay bias vs publicity-stunt") that probably keep his future career still at about 50/50, just with a different set of actors.
Anyhow, it will be historic when a gay player steps on to the court and plays. On the road.

The Monday Morning News.
Jason Collins is effectively retired. We'll still have to wait awhile before we see an openly gay player on the court/field

SL Letter of the Day: Not One of Those Bisexuals.
@5 it would totally matter (to me) if you were a "regular gay guy" vs a flaming effeminate homo. I generally avoid people with big, attention-seeking personality affects. I'm not down with fratboy broham's or young dotcom richkidz either. Personalities matter. Delivery matters. Appearance matters.
So don't fool yourself with lines such as "I'd like to think you'd still talk to me if..." I wouldn't. If the most visible aspect of a person's personality is where they like to stick their dick, I wager that person doesn't have much to say that could interest me.
