Yet, another example of Seattle Police not doing their job to “serve and protect” but more of the “profile and harass”. Don’t some of these dead beat cops realize that it’s the tax dollars of the citizens that line their pockets for the job that they do not do well? There needs to be in place a psychological evaluation in the hiring process of police personnel. Police are not getting the training they need to prevent them from acting stupid. The police in many cities in the USA are acting like gangs and our taxes are paying their wages. We need to start a movement similar to Occupy Wall Street to boycott our taxes paying these gangsters until they become move reasonable and level headed in their dealings with the general public. In regards to officer Cynthia Whitlatch in this story: Make her day by setting her loose without her weapons on a very busy 18 hole golf course with the objective of surviving the many swings of the golf club. I would say she is in dire need of a psychological evaluation. Poor baby.

Seattle Police is under federal consent decree for excessive use of force and there is a good reason why. Might does not make right - what is practiced by the Seattle Police Dept. is a bully mentality and the sooner we realize this the better off our community will be. I don’t want to associate with bullies so why would I want the police department to be bully like in behavior? It is not only the SPD that force their way into our lives bully style. The Seattle School District (its corrupt politics and policies), and the Seattle City Council that panders to developers are bullies too. This city, the citizens of this city, and the agencies that are suppose to be in service for the people that have placed them in positions of responsibility NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. Accountability is not happening at many levels - the systems are broken and in need of repair.

Seattle Police is under federal consent decree for excessive use of force and there is a good reason why. The agreement reached between the SPD and Department of Justice about police reform regarding force policies is suppose to limit an officers behavior, and they are as follows:
1. Emphasis and expectation of de-escalation to include police warnings when possible. 2. Use of force by an officer is required to be reported and documented. 3. All officers should be carrying one non-gun weapon (Taser, baton, pepper spray) to be used when appropriate. Why didn’t the officer who shot Cody Spafford seven times use a non-gun weapon? Cody wouldn’t have to be dead if certain bully like attitudes and behaviors were changed. Who will be the next victim? You?

What is wrong with SPD? This city has developed a bad reputation around the country because of the SPD. So what is our new mayor going to do about the situation? Is he going to be another one term mayor because of letting the SPD kill people for carrying a knife? I remember Johnny Walker a number of years back being shot to death because he carried a knife and stole a quart of milk from Safeway in the Queen Anne area. The killing was captured on film. I don’t know what’s worse, the gangs, or the SPD. SPD for all practical purposes functions as a gang. This city is not safe. What do the concerned citizens of this city have to do to insist that the SPD is not make up of a bunch of trigger happy crazy people????
