@15 No it is true for all responsible self-actualized human adults.

I might add to the letter-writer that he develop a sense of gratitude for the experiences he already got to have. It sounds like you had a good run, dude. You got to have that.

Just because that's in the past doesn't diminish its value.

The wife is not being inconsiderate, she's doing her and getting her needs met and doing what she wants to do.

If you're not getting your needs met that's your own fault. You are 100% responsible for meeting all your own needs your own self.

If you're having trouble finding dates that's your problem, not hers. This is a very common problem for poly men. It's likely to take years of sending out hundreds of messages online before you're going to get any takers.

You should try to develop a cuckolding fetish so that you can enjoy the dynamic that you have agreed and committed to and that your wife is enjoying.

Yes, it's art.

Song of the South and Birth of a Nation are also art. They still have merit but their time has passed.

People comparing it to Othello are way off the mark. This play is essentially, a joke about British government, and the punchline is "we're the same as those yellow heathens!"

One of the major themes of Othello is love thwarted by societal prejudice. Othello is represented as a complex character, not a stereotype of a black man. In fact, Othello is never explicitly stated to be black. "Moorish" could look like a lot of different things. So a white person playing Othello is not blackface (unless they use makeup to darken their skin).

Intent vs. Impact is one of the major tenets of social justice values. Intent matters, sometimes, but impact is usually more important when we're talking race and institutionalized power dynamics. We needn't walk on eggshells, but people who are given privilege, through no choice of their own, can choose to exercise sensitivity or awareness.

Unfortunately FtMs aren't very desired in queer kink circles nowadays. Masculinity is an oppressive force in queer spaces and is femmes and genderqueer folks are circling the wagons. So unless you have a fancy gender, you really aren't a "catch" at all. You can go on a "dry streak" for 3 or 4 or more years, regardless of how much self-work you've done. Perhaps be grateful for the experiences you've already had and just work on not desiring/not wanting. It sounds like you had a good run. You can go to kink events as a voyeur or do volunteer work and commit yourself to service to the community. Try to find something else fulfilling to do and work on reducing desires.

Look, no one is saying you have to fuck anyone you don't want to because their bodies don't turn you on. That's completely valid. If you don't want to fuck an ftm or a mtf that's fine. Peoples' feelings might be hurt but people hurt each others feelings all the fucking time in the world of dating. I agree this piece Dan posted is poorly written and convoluted. You can think whatever you want about transpeople, but it's bad form to say "they're really women because they have two X chromosomes." That's like saying to someone "Wow your mom is fat and is probably gonna die of diabetes or stroke out soon, also I wouldn't fuck her." Don't be all huffy when they get offended, don't be like "What, it's true!!! Don't be mad, it's true!" Because regardless of the state of mom's medical condition or the state of your hard-on, blurting hurtful things when it doesn't directly affect you is tactless and it makes you the asshole. If you don't have anything nice to say keep your trap shut.

They are saying that just because a queer lady might be afraid of the penis because she has been raped or have had a bad experience with a man-with-penis that caused trauma, it's unfair to transmen to say "I am am queer and transsensual" when she means "I only date people with vaginas and that includes transdudes and ladies-with-vaginas." Because it can be just as triggering and traumatic for transdudes to be put into the position where they are considered "lady-like" just because they have "lady bits."

Additionally, penises don't rape people, people rape people. I know of several trans men in this very city who have ignored lack of consent and have raped, yes raped, their partners. I know of a trans dude who beat his female partner. Some of these guys have had their asses kicked, others continue to move unhindered in queer social circles, because sadly sometimes queer community is more about popularity contests than us actually taking care of each other. :P

A lot of small business owners have a thought process like this: they worked really, really REALLY hard guys, like 120+ hours a week, and they had to take out a second mortgage on their home and resort to eating their kids' pets just to get their business up and running, yeah, and they certainly never got a sick day while doing all that, so anyone who DOESN'T have the guff to start their own business just doesn't have the cajones to have a REAL work ethic and are all sissy whiners, that's why they're employees and not employers. So they can just come to work and like it when they're sick, they're lucky to have a job and it's all thanks to MEEEEEE, how bout that?

They're pro-union, pro-environment and they usually vote Democratic. They're just giant babbys when it comes to the gay, like most baby boomers IME.

Yeah, my parents are liberal lefties but they don't like gay people. I came out to them 12 years ago and they still can't even bring themselves to say the word "gay" out loud. They vote against gay rights not because of religious reasons but because the thought of two dudes having butt sex freaks them out. So much so that my dad refuses to shake my gay friends' hands or sit in a seat that a gay person previously sat in. Your kid coming out don't do shit for that kind of mentality, it just makes them dislike gay issues even more.

Yes, I grew up in that region and was harassed quite a bit because I was perceived to be queer. After having my head repeatedly slammed against lockers, the vice principal's response: "If you're going to flaunt your lifestyle, you should be prepared to accept the consequences." (I didn't flaunt, btw, all I did was exist). I agree with #12. The people who chose to stay and settle down in such regions, parents AND teachers, chose because the intolerance of difference makes it a "great place to live/raise kids" and will only work to perpetuate that climate. Which is why the laughing at the funeral thing doesn't surprise or shock me at all. Jana and her family deserved so much better.
