It matters not. There is no political will, at least here in the US, to punish white collar crime. Oh, there will be some calls for hearings and such, and Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders might actually mean what they say about punishing the offenders, but we all know that nothing will happen. In fact, if this follows the trajectory of Sandy Hook, we'll go from calls for reform that would restrict such behavior to legislative action that actually makes things easier for them. So then we'll think to ourselves that well, at least the miscreants will be publicly shamed and feel bad . . . but sadly, no they really won't. They will in the end somehow put themselves up as the aggrieved, and the press will allow it.

Shit's all fucked up.

@3: Agreed. That is the most intellectually lazy position that anyone can take, in my opinion. Anytime someone pulls that out as an argument, they lose me. And we need people like Stewart to continue to hammer away at it every time it comes up.
