The almond argument is bullshit. We're exporting too much cattle feed. Most of the water in Cali goes to growing alfalfa, which is then harvested and baled and put on ships and sent to South America and parts elsewhere to feed cows, which are then slaughtered for their meat. The water consumed by almonds is a trickle compared to the rushing river consumed by exported alfalfa.

I admire the restraint shown by the officer, but holy-wow! Flinging Skittles at and harassing a cop? He should've taken her in.

That's some bullshit right there.

@10 I agree.

The depressing part is what these closets cost. I thought they were supposed to be affordable. How the hell does anyone afford to live in Seattle?

I have to look up ICYMI every time you print it. And for some reason, I think about frozen yogurt when I see it.

I fucking hate Internet Acronyms. IFHIA.

Can we all agree it's wrong to kill people? That's one of the better Commandments in my view and it seems to paid lip service at least by the major world religions.

@10: I would like a clue. How does one bring about change?

I shook hands with him after a show a few years ago. He and Teller met every fan who tried to talk to them and never turned down photo or autograph requests. They were both really classy, warm and genuinely respectful of their fans. They struck me as the good kind of celebrities.

I know they're both Libertarian, and it really turned me off to their show, Bullshit. Personally, I'm not a fan of their views on some political and economic issues.

I think Mr. Gillette should apologize to Ms. West for what he said. That was wrong and bad of him.

I hope he realizes that and genuinely apologizes, because he and Teller put on a great show and I would like to see it again someday without the guilt of supporting a douchebag and his no-taxes-free-market partner.

You should certainly loan money to family and friends. What you should not do is expect to be paid back.

I kind of like the UN owns the Internet idea. I really like the idea of taxing billionaires.

What if you like some of the conspiracy theories and think they might be good policy? Does that make me a fringey?

I'm so confused now.

The bike lane is designed incorrectly. In the picture, I see street, bike lane, parking lane, curb, sidewalk. It should be street, parking lane, curb, bike lane, curb, sidewalk.

Every bike lane next to a street should be fixed. You're never going to alter people's behaviors to the degree necessary to address this design flaw.
