Is no one else deeply offended by the fact that these A**holes ponied up one hundred million dollars to get their man in office? That is one hundred million dollars!!! This country is getting exactly what it deserves.

I don't think this is his "debut" novel because he published Mitko in 2010. From the synopsis, the stories sound similar.

I'm just surprised that people still see Bill Gates as a good guy.

As an American living in the ME, I would tell the woman to be very careful of what she is getting into. I love ME people, but culturally there are a lot of values we don't share. Anything that has to do with sex is one of the big ones. Also, no single Arab man is disconnected from his family. His family will always, yes always prevail. And you are either the bit of stuff on the side that he will get rid of when he is ready to be responsible, or he will marry you and you will assume the role. These mixed marriages can be very interesting and quite wonderful, but don't be a fool. Be clear about what you are taking on.

The mouse thing was disturbing on more levels than I can count. That is one image I will never be able to erase from my brain. Yikes!!!

I'm living a replay of her last run: I'm enthusiastic in the beginning, but the more she says, the more I'm confronted with the fact that she is ethically challenged. I question her values and wonder about the presence of a soul. God, I hope we have another choice!

Once again, we are fighting over the crumbs left from the predator profit gods. Check out the billions made by airlines last year. The airlines are the assholes here. I avoid all US based companies as much as possible. There are a lot of airlines out there that don't treat passengers like garbage. Vote with your tickets.

That the Republicans, in their current configuration, are even in the running speaks volumes about the American electorate . Where else would a party that is obstructionist, anti-intellectual , anti-women, anti-gay, big money, predominantly white by design, climate change deniers, to name but a few of their qualities, not be the laughing stock of every thinking person?
Feb 28, 2014 kevin11 commented on A Baker Refused to Make Your Wedding Cake?.
when I read this post in Andrew's blog, I gave a big sigh. I know of his feelings about his beliefs, but I think that he is completely wrong here. If we let this door stay open, where will it end? We are giving Catholic hospitals waivers for providing legal drugs and medical procedures to their employees who may or may not be catholic, so does that mean that they can keep my husband out of my hospital room or refuse to let him direct my medical care? Where does this stop? This people don't understand anything except money. Proof is that it was the fear of economic loss that caused this change, not the simple understanding that it was the moral and, dare I say, Christian thing to do. When did americans become such assholes?

@7 I'm not sure of your age, but I can tell you that I lived in Montreal during those years, and while I know that not everyone in Montreal died then, out of all of my guy friends, I only have one left. I know that now as I approach 60, I'm basically facing those years without anyone that I grew up with to help me figure out this part of my life. I also know that for 10 years, I spent most of my free time in hospitals, by bedsides and at funerals. So while not everyone died, it certainly feels like everyone did.
