Marvel *Studios* has yet to have a serious miss.

For years Marvel farmed out their licenses, but starting with Iron Man, they have been making their own.

Daredevil & Elektra were made by 20th Century Fox, who still has the rights to make X-Men & Fantastic 4 movies. Sony, for now, still has the rights to Spider-Man. but pretty much everything else has reverted back to Marvel and is being produced under the Marvel Studios banner.

Iron Man 2 was kind of a clunker, though.

There's a spot on I-5 near tacoma where the freeway takes a pretty sharp left. I was driving home late one night, and Viva La Vida came on the radio. Immediately, instinctively, i look down and change the radio to another station. When I looked up, I realized I was in that turn, and had not actually turned and had drifted lanes pretty dramatically.

Luckily, it was something like 1 AM and there was nobody on the road, so I was fine. But had it been any other time, I would have been in a car accident, and a rather bad one.

It was that moment that I realized that I would rather DIE IN A FIERY CAR CRASH than listen to that fucking Coldplay song.

@12 Wait, you're telling me the Paul McCartney concert WASN'T a horribly rotted corpse thing?

Bought some of that vodka as a joke, expecting it to be terrible - suprisingly good!

Why not Dave Grohl?

Clinton's history with the whole "Hot Coffee" fiasco ruined her for me for life.

After the release of GTA:San Andreas - a game where you can have sex with a hooker, then murder her to get your cash back - it was revealed that there had been a mini-game that was not playable without 3rd party addons that allowed you to have consensual sex with your girlfriend.

Hilary went on a tear, trying to get legislation passed that would make it illegal to sell video games to children, which on its face seems like a good thing, but it would have moved video games from the same category that movies and tv and music are in, and put it in the same category as pornography. Basically, her law would get video games targeted at adults (AKA, most of them) removed from the majority of retailers that sell them.

It was stupid reactionary politics aimed more at self-publicity than solving a problem. That's not what I want from a president.

I don't know, I think it was more of a "D-Minus-mused".

Oh, and Goldy, the reason there are so few free drop boxes is BECAUSE the county auditor's office is so short on funds. So you are not helping the issue.
Aug 4, 2012 jath commented on A Truly Free Election.
It is delivered to the county POSTAGE DUE. So the postal service gets their money whether you put a stamp on or not.

Where the loss is at is the county auditor's office who has to pay for thousands of ballots worth of postage.

I agree with you, Goldy - it's better that someone vote than not vote, and by extension, it is better that someone vote without a stamp than not vote at all. But those are not the only options.

The advice you should be giving people now is "there's plenty of time, be a responsible citizen and buy a book of forever stamps, then you're set for this and the next 19 elections." Only pull out the "you can vote if you don't have a stamp" crap on election day after the post offices are closed. Until then, ENCOURAGE RESPONSIBILITY and don't encourage people to shortchange a government entity that is already hurting for money.

@24 There is no "tax" on voting. You can, as I did, drop your ballot off at any number of locations for perfectly free. There IS, however a charge to pay a man to come to your house and hand deliver your ballot to its destination because you are too lazy to drive a mile or less to a dropoff point. This charge is (i think, don't keep up with postage) FORTY FOUR CENTS.

Before the days of vote-by-mail, you wouldn't be able to shout "I AM BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BECAUSE I AM TOO LAZY TO TRAVEL A REASONABLE DISTANCE TO MY POLLING PLACE." And guess what? You can't now either.
