I have to disagree. We've been winning, yes, but not by being "graceful." We've been loud and we've demanded our rights, and we'll continue to do so until we are equal in the law.

And it doesn't matter if it's some grandmother discriminating against a gay couple or an interracial couple or any other relationship she doesn't approve of. It's discrimination and against the law. If we don't enforce those laws, what's the point of having them?

I'm having trouble picturing an independent voter for whom this would be the deciding factor to vote for Romney. I imagine if someone is considering Romney they are either opposed or indifferent to same sex marriage, no?

You're absolutely right. It is terrible that a kid needs to keep that a secret lest he be the victim of bigotry and hate. I agree with you that a kid should not be ashamed if his parents are gay.

If you know a little bit about the Civil War, you know it was about slavery.

If you've read some books on the subject, you know there were a variety of factors: state's rights, socio-economic issues, national defense, etc.

If you're an expert on the Civil War and have spent extensive time studying it, you know it was about slavery.

This is like people who consider using "douche" to describe someone as an attack against womyn or whatever. It's a derogitory term for a woman, yes, but it is not something to be used lightly. And yes, Dan could have just as easily called this WT woman a bigoted, close-minded, hateful idiot, but calling her a cunt is just as accurate.
