May 4 Amanda commented on Savage Love Letter of the Day: What's Wrong with Wanting Bigger Boobs?.
It's funny to see all the commenters sharing their boob size preferences here. No one else's preference really seems relevant to the LW's issue. She wants bigger boobs but feels like a traitor to her kind -- and a "shallow" lady -- for seriously considering implants. I think she's being too hard on herself. Whether or not we resort to surgery, we all alter our appearances in a number of ways both to better suit ourselves and to enhance our sex appeal. What makes someone who gets breast implants more superficial than someone who wears full makeup every day or habitually dyes their hair? Is all the plucking and waxing and shaving women are expected to do over the course of our lives a less shallow endeavor than cosmetic surgery? It's definitely a fine line. LW should do what makes her feel best in her own body. Sound familiar?
Apr 21 Amanda commented on The Heart of Whiteness: Ijeoma Oluo Interviews Rachel Dolezal, the White Woman Who Identifies as Black.
It's strange that IO and others smugly insist how laughable it is that RD could ever be taken for black, mixed race, or anything other than "very, very white." Her career trajectory clearly shows that she was perceived as black or mixed by entire communities of both black and white people for years.
Apr 20 Amanda commented on Excerpt: We Sent Ijeoma Oluo to Spokane to Meet Rachel Dolezal.
It's fucked up that Oluo and others take this woman's mental health issues as a personal affront.

She looks like an adult woman, not a girl.

@6 Broad City is also a straight comedy. Girls is a comedy-drama.

@12 -- I also got pregnant during my period. There is no safe time to have completely unprotected sex if you definitely don't want a baby.

Using EC as a primary method of birth control is NOT recommended by doctors or by the manufacturers. Dan kinda shit the bed here by not mentioning that. Speaking of shitting the bed, violent nausea and diarrhea are both possible side effects of EC. That's one way to spoil your sexy weekend. Suck it up and use safe birth control or be better organized next time.
Nov 22, 2016 Amanda commented on Hillary Clinton Is Everything We Have Been Taught Women Should Not Be.
HRC's weaknesses as a candidate definitely extend beyond the email scandal, but the widespread attitude that she is "as bad as Trump" or that they're "both terrible" -- the implication being that they're *equally* terrible -- is completely irrational and rooted in misogyny.

If that's your idea of "mayonnaise-colored", it may be time to clean out your fridge.
Jun 22, 2016 Amanda commented on A California Woman Is Accusing Donald Trump of Raping Her When She Was 13 Years Old.
People get excited about rape allegations against someone whose politics they hate. That's gross. That everyone is so eager to believe these accusations against Trump while dismissing those against Bill Clinton is just another example of how fucked up we can be in dealing with this issue.

Who has a better chance of beating Trump? I honestly don't know.
