Thank you so much for your excellent pieces on Ludovic Morlot. We started going to see the symphony again when he took over, and have loved just about everything they have performed, especially the Dutilleux works. Morlot can make even the most meat and potatos repertoire exciting. Your articles on Morlot are far superior to anything put out any where else in this town.
With all the money flowing in Seattle, we should have the best symphony in the country, and it seems like Morlot is working to reach a bigger and younger audience, while still offering challenging music for all.

So every entertainment has to be "believable"? Based on a "true story"? How pathetic and threadbare; stories should be told no matter their provenance. Do you just want to hear about people exactly like you? Everything is fiction!

Old story; big business from Weyerhouser, Boeing, to Microsoft and Amazon, chiseling their way out of paying all kinds of taxes, thanks to the legislature giving them breaks over decades, which would help fund education. Then they whine about poorly trained workers, and bring in foreign workers on the cheap. Add the blood thirsty drive to bust unions, and this state, which could be a model for educating kids, which has so much money generated by the giant corporations, is not much better than some place down in the southeast US.

They serve miniscule portions, albeit very tasty ones. We had a bizarre experience there, with a 14 dollar appetizer barely visible on the plate. They were attentive and pleasant, but the food was way over priced. This seems to be a common theme lately, tiny plates for big bucks.

Long ago, in the early 1970's, my boyfriend and I had gone running, then stopped at some friends' house. They had made pot brownies, so we ate a few each, not knowing to wait for the response. The pot back then wasn't too good, but we got really high and very sick, eventually getting relief via vomiting.
But lately, with the vastly improved weed and processing, something like the different tinctures offered are very good for easing into a high. They come in varieties such as Sativa and CBD. You can spike your lemonade or just put some drops in your mouth. Then be patient...

I've had an abortion, a full term pregnancy, and a miscarriage of a fetus we wanted. The latter was the hardest to experience, emotionally. Right wing men and women are idiots about abortions, especially the men. Do they regret the demise of all their sperm? There are far too many humans on this poor planet.

We had a wonderful dinner here last night. Dishes ranged from a beet salad, sweet potato gnocchi, to quail and salmon, all with delectable preparations. We tried a few different wines by the glass, and the chef presented us with an amuse bouche that, despite containing rabbit liver - I hate liver of any kind - was delicious. We saw some giant seared scallops go by, which looked perfect. Hard to describe the ingredients, go and see for yourself. Not a cheap hole in the wall, but a nice little space for a fine meal. Amiable and attentive staff; the restaurant also has a spot in the Wallingford Farmers' Market on Wednesdays to feature their food. Very nice people manning it.
Terrific addition to the Meridian "Tangletown" neighborhood!

@5: I got a bag of candy at PCC in Fremont that is called Surf Sweets Organic Fruity Hearts. They are pink and red, watermelon and cherry flavored, respectively. Small, tender, tasty. And on sale.

Witch hazel shrubs have been out for a while, too. They have a wonderful pungent/sweet fragrance, and delicate flowers.
