Savage Love.
SiousieQ has some good perspectives, but I think she's glossing over just how damaged & money-oriented many (not all) sex workers are. They're definitely not all (or even most) like Helen Hunt was in The Sessions. Movies are not real life.
If SIS want this to be a truly therapeutic session, as opposed to just getting her brother laid, she can do her brother a great service by doing some screening for him and by eliminating him from any of the money negotiations. It sounds like he wouldn't have the experience or the social skills to handle those aspects of dealing with sex workers for himself anyway.

I Am Adam Lanza's Mother.
@160 - "The guns aren't the problem (of course they certainly don't help), because if it wasn't a gun, it might be a knife or a rope or...you get my point. Look at all the stabbings in China on that very same day...also involving school children, 22 children to be exact. "

... A doctor at Guangshan's hospital of traditional Chinese medicine said that seven students had been admitted, but that none were seriously injured...
NEWS FLASH: Mentally unstable person with a knife attacks schoolchildren ...
All of them live, few are even seriously hurt.
IT'S THE GUNS, STUPID!

You are NOT Adam Lanza's mother, because you have not yet been stupid enough to buy a bunch of guns & keep them at your house where your mentally unstable son can get them, use them on you, his siblings, other people, and himself.
I am very sorry for you.
Your son is very difficult to manage.
Your son in one of his angry moods with an automatic weapon in his hand would be
DEATH to many others & to himself. This is why GUN CONTROL is still a huge part of
this question.

IMO, what's unusual about BLOW is that she's a straight woman who really really likes giving head for its own sake. That's unusual. It makes her a special little snowflake. Most women are OK with giving head, lots of women *like* giving head (but not as much as they like intercourse), but few women seem to like it as much as BLOW does.
All other things being equal, sooner or later BLOW will blow some guy who really really likes getting head - maybe even more than he likes intercourse. He'll keep coming back for more & end up in an LTR.
Simple & honest.

SL Letter of the Day: The Euro.
@7 Don't misunderstand - few of the women I know who have had abortions would choose differently. If they have regrets it's about not being ready at that time, or not being with the right partner, or something along those lines.
Perhaps it's being confronted with that reality of not having the right partner to raise a child with, or something like that, but it does seem that many relationships end after an abortion.
Perhaps readers who *know of* counterexamples, rather than *being* counterexamples, might chime in.

I'm curious ... my totally unscientific anecdotal opinion based on the cases I know about is that few relationships survive an elective abortion.
Am I wrong ... ?
Readers who had an abortion at some point, then went on to live happily ever after, perhaps have children, with the partner who was the other parent of the aborted fetus are invited to provide counter-examples.

The Column In Question.
Lauren was being a complete asshole when she totally
distorted the contents of the original letter.
If she had said ... "the rape victim who had gone
cold on her husband but was still running hot with
a lover" that would have been an accurate representation.
I can see how rape victim might need to take her anger out on a male, and how she would want to keep a positive expression of her sexuality also. It's unlikely that she could reverse the roles (... torture the lover by withholding sex & keep the connection with the husband ...) because the lover,
not caring as much, would probably just bolt. The fact that her connection with the lover increases the torture for her husband is probably a plus for the side of her that needs this.
Having been victimized, she becomes a victimizer -
of one who really cares because he is the only one
who will hang around for it.
This is not OK.
It's harmful to her and to all those around her.
Dan was too soft on her if anything.
I hope she got some therapy that worked.
If not, I'm sure she got a divorce.
