Haters always play the victim. It's integral to their pathos.

Trolls feed on hate. Don't feed the trolls.

I don't approve of the local man telling Spencer to go fuck himself. But I understand. To that man, I would offer: You'll never cure hate with hate. Then I would buy him lunch and listen.

Followup.

I was an undercover Uber driver

TL;DR: Drivers in Philly make $10/hr (+/- $0.50).

First two Uber rides, I tipped, drivers were surprised. Third, was rebuffed by driver. Oh, okay. Fourth, I didn't even think to tip.

So whatever the tipping rules are, I don't care, just make up your frikkin mind(s).

KJones- What about charter schools, and I-1240 specifically, will improve student achievement?

psimons- As a taxpayer, I'm reluctant to waste even more money on yet another education reform fad.

I support Sylvester Cann in this race, even though I'm no longer in the 46 LD.

I asked Sylvester Cann point blank about his support for charter schools. He said he was against them. I choose to believe Cann. So I assume the Stand for Children money is a strange bedfellows thing.

I love Gerry Pollet like a brother. I enthusiastically supported him in the past. I have no quarrel with him, though I know he was disappointed I didn't support him this time.

However, we progressives need to nurture our farm team of future leaders. I will prefer younger candidates, especially for LD races. Because state House and Senate seats are entry level positions. I very much expect our young politicians to get experience and then move on to greater things.

I agree with Toby Nixon @6.

I still won't vote for Kim Wyman. But she's not a crackpot.

johnjjeeves @3. Accidents happen. I regularly peddle to work. And a few months ago running errands in Ballard I almost tagged a cyclist with my door. Totally my fault. I felt terrible. Dude jawed at me and I just took it, because my bad. I'm glad he was paying attention. And it reminded me to also pay attention.

Charles @ 12

First class, not third class. My bad. It was late.

1% lost still applies. It's worse for third class mail.

USPS is pretty close lipped about this kind of thing. I was able to figure it out by reading court documents. Their big customers sue over these kinds of things.

USPS loses ~1% of all third class mail. Lost. As in gone. Disappeared. Not UAA (undeliverable as addressed), which is returned to the sender.

One percent of 1,100,000 ballots issued is 11,000.

Some fraction of those are dedicated voters who will show up a poll site on election day.

Cheers, Jason

PS- That 1% also applies to returned ballots. People who tried to vote, but the ballots got lost. And you won't know, unless you call to verify receipt.
