Feb 25, 2014 bobbelieu commented on What Do You Think of the Silicon Valley Trailer?.
I worked in the tech industry in Silicon Valley back in the 1980's and I have no desire to relive that experience in any way. I can't imagine the place (or the people) have gotten any better or more interesting since then.

@8: Indeed. I've been healthy for three years and this year I've had two colds in as many months. Whatever is going around it pretty brutal.

Read it a couple of months ago. You definitely want to start with The Last Policeman and then read Countdown City. I'm not sure how the stories would hold up individually.

Fun to think about...

@4: Made my day too. Can't wait to start seeing it sold in stores. Anyone know when that's supposed to happen? I keep hearing 'next year' sometime, nothing very specific.

I worked a lot of crappy jobs when I was young but the worst was the four years at an iron foundry in my home town of Lodi, CA. I was a core maker and it was a boring and dangerous job. God knows what nasty stuff I inhaled during that time. The one good thing about that job was that it gave me the drive and ambition to go back to college. I haven't worked for a living since.

What #6 said. We're a sad species.

Actually, there is damage to the upper fuselage just forward of the rear bulkhead. If that fire damage was caused by flames that reached the ceiling then it would be in the right location for the aft battery. Here's a diagram from an article written back during the battery snafu:
