Aug 16 CPN commented on Today in Stupid: Rudy Giuliani Conveniently Forgets the Timing of 9/11.
One of my all-time favorite lines was from Joe Biden who said, "The only thing Rudy Giuliani has is a noun, a verb and 9/11."
Aug 5 CPN commented on American Democracy Isn't Rigged, It's Just Not Very Good.
To be fair, even a strongly left-leaning fellow like myself has to admit the Democrats are just as heinous as Republicans at gerrymandering.

And for Bernie supporters like myself, who knew all along that the DNC rigged the game for Hillary in any way they could, in which the proof 'coincidentally' came to light just after Hillary had it locked up, proves that the powers-that-be in the Democratic camp are just as corrupt as those who gave us George W. Bush.

It's all about the money. And those of us who don't have it continue to get fucked.
Jul 31 CPN commented on Three People Died in a Mukilteo Shooting Last Night.
I found The Stranger's coverage of the mass shooting in Munich last week to be particularly interesting... because there was no coverage. None. Bupkus.

I'm guessing The Stranger didn't cover it because they couldn't blame Germany's lax gun control laws or the NRA and because the shooter said he was actively seeking the fame and publicity the media would inevitably give him.

The Stranger simply doesn't like to cover stories that don't fit their agenda.

I've been saying for years that mass shootings are perpetuated by the media (and now social media) who fetishize deranged killers and give them the posthumous glory they so desperately crave. And the Munich shooter proved my point.

As a side note, I'd like to note that guns and semi auto rifles are harder to get than ever before. 25 years ago I remember buying a German H&K 91 over the counter with nothing more than my driver's license and a 4473 form. Why weren't there more mass shootings back then?

It's because Columbine and the media's masturbatory coverage of it hadn't happened yet.

The death of the GOP would be a disaster for America. As much as I hate the right wing wackos and billionaires, the left comes up with some pretty stupid shit, too.

@38

Are you fucking kidding me? You don't have to believe the gun industry to see that President Obama is the greatest gun salesman in the history of the world.

Perhaps you'd believe the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Gun sales in 2001: 2,932,655
Gun sales in 2012: 8,578,610

Just because you wish it to be so doesn't make it so.

Guns cause suicides? Bullshit. They certainly make it easier but guns don't cause anything. That's like saying cars cause drunk driving deaths.

Without even looking it up, I can think of two countries where guns are totally banned and have higher suicide rates than the U.S.

Russia and Japan.
Apr 13 CPN commented on Bertha Is About to Drill Under the Viaduct—Here Are Five Questions That Still Haven't Been Answered.
Can you imagine the apocalyptic regional traffic clusterfuck if the Viaduct has to be closed? We would be fucked for years.

Oh yeah, I can imagine it now. Remember the traffic after the Nisqually quake? Which, incidentally, is why The Stranger's 'surface option' was never a real option.

Feb 29 CPN commented on Scalia Communicates Through Clarence Thomas from the Grave.
It's a sad state of affairs when a Justice actually asking a question is front page news.

In an ironic twist of words, Clarence Thomas is the very embodiment of an empty robe.
