Congress is preparing to grant Apple and others a major repatriation holiday, and they have to feign outrage before they do it. Since they can legally trade on insider information, I suspect many lawmakers will buy a ton of stock, then let Apple repatriate their cash at 5%

We need to put fluoride in the water, but not medical grade fluoride. No, it should come from industrial waste from the phosphate industry, and if everyone drinks this, it will cancel out all the sugar we eat and no one will have to go to the dentist anymore. And dentists, who care more about teeth than their business, support this practice because it's so effective.

I'll never understand why people think fluoride in the water is a good idea, let alone necessary for public health.

I had a friend who worked for the Washington Toxics Coalition. They get a lot of requests to research this topic, and this statement by @23 turns out to be absolutely correct:

"the chemical used in water fluoridation - hydrofluorosilicic acid - is not the pharmaceutical grade fluoride regulated by the FDA in dental products, but an unrefined waste product of the phosphate fertilizer industry."

That's why our country, which normally could give a fuck about public health, has such an interest in fluoridating water.
