The Case for Suing That Florist.
In the 1960s, the Unruh Civil Rights Act was interpreted to provide broad protection from arbitrary discrimination by business owners. Cases decided during that era held that business owners could not discriminate, for example, against hippies, police officers, homosexuals, or Republicans, solely because of who they were.

The Case for Suing That Florist.
I completely agree that this woman should be sued 'up the butt'. BUT, the idea of members the floral/wedding industry denying gays their business is pretty funny in terms of a horrible business decision. They would sink into bankruptcy if they turn away such a wonderful new source of income. If your industry is selling happiness and joy, you will turn away the vast majority of your customers in denying that to 'certain' people. As a straight girl I would NEVER give money to such a bigoted bitch, for any flowers. If I found that a boyfriend had bought me flowers there I would return them and take the money to a sensible fair shop and get myself a new bouquet.

I Hate the Beacon Hill Library, and You Should Too.
God forbid anyone build a nice, interesting building. Why not make it a square brick windowless prisonesque monstrosity so we can make sure no one isn't confronted buy the ugliness of this world. I see racism and sexism in lots of places and ideas, but Charles is a freaking ghost hunter. 'did you hear that?, sounds racist!'

A Divorced Straight Man’s Guide to Gay Marriage.
Oh Seattle, why so earnest? Why does the divorce rate equal the amount of people who get their butts in a ruffle because they have no sarcasm meter? Do you need a special font or something to let you know when someone is (gasp) poking fun, example here at the gays AND straights?

The Lying Disease.
It did strike me odd that someone who had been so duped would go for it again and yet another time...but when you are cut off from face to face social relationships the interweb does seem to take on much more importance.
I became a member of the 'young widows' site. (Yay, fuck you 2009, lost my mom same year).
But point being there was SO much craziness there, it was almost good distraction. I did actually meet a couple of awesome women, one of whom I met in person.
Anyhow, it's a great topic because we all have met liars in real life and sometimes missed the red flags at first. The internet just adds that web of believability, and the willingness to open yourself up.
There's a reason your shrink (ok, well maybe not everyone has a shrink) wants to see you in person.

Christmas in Prison.
Good lord, a lot of you would have LOVED the McCarthy years.
Someone, neither of these two, broke a window. Yes it's vandalism and they should be arrested...but these two in jail did not do it. Were it something violent, and they did know who did it, for sure they should be held. But no, the is the government digging their heels in and demanding information from people not involved. We have a lot of actual dangerous criminals and mentally ill people who need addressing before we go locking up (on our tax dollar) people who did NOTHING.

Savage Love.
@ 59 and everyone in general. pee directly after you have sex. You do not want gunk sitting around in your urethra all night. Especially women, it's bladder-infection-ville. Even if it's only a little pee, it will help.

We Couldn't Have Done It Without Them.
I'm just so happy I could pee my pants, I want a big gay party with thanks to EVERYONE who voted for fairness. I feel bad this took so long, we owe you homos big smootches for making the world a kinder place. For a minority you sure made a HUGE impact.
And we have an awesome black president still! I really never thought the day would come when I could be so proud to live here.

It's Not About the Stoners.
Totally agree with 66 and who gives a poop anyhow, it's just pot. I hate it, my friends love it, they use it responsibly. I don't think people should drive drunk, stoned or fucked up in any way but other than that..let's get the black peeps and other bogusly arrested non-violent people out of prison. Talk about a waste of tax dollars, 'welfare' doesn't even come close to what we spend to lock up and fuck up the lives of people smoking weed. Those crazy trolls are so high they can't think beyond paranoia.
