We do love our comfortable ideas of class, order, family, genus, species...

Very excited to see this work.

That's the funny thing about actually doing things, rather than complaining about folks that are trying to do things... It actually takes time.
Jan 24 timmiche commented on Mary Shirley, Leading Art Collector, Has Died.
I will always remember Mary Shirley for her love of a dirty joke, a glass full and a smoke outdoors. Most importantly she had a kind and gentle spirit slightly belied by that raspy, truck-stop bartender voice. She quietly gave money to artists in need and supported many of the things that make Seattle great. We will miss her big personality and the twinkle in her eye.

The storage area is often my favorite part of any museum. That why I loveartiat Fred Wilson's work so much. http://bombsite.com/issues/1000/articles…

I like that you focused on the event and the meat of the evening's performances and then just inserted yourself at the very end. I think that is a good framework for your writing. Sometimes you insert yourself too much in the middle and it gets in the way of your incites. Good job. Sounds like the symphony is off and running.
Sep 19, 2012 timmiche commented on SAM Is Losing A Good Curator in Marisa Sánchez.
Marisa was a very compelling curator and was she engaged with the community. This was a big plus for SAM. I am sad to see her go. I am sure that she will go on to great things. Let's wish her well rather than complain about things we don't understand.
Sep 8, 2012 timmiche commented on Now You Can Die Happy, Western Bridge.
We will look forward to something to fill the void that is left behind. Something will. Not in the same gracefully and gracious way that Western Bridge did, but we must have hope that the need will be filled...
