Watch the video. The whole thing is disgusting. This excerpt is by no means the only revolting thing he says. The whole talk is sexist and hostile and antiquated and patriarchal and downright nauseating.
He says people misquote him and his teachings by suggesting he doesn't believe in female equality. But then he goes on and on about how women have to respect the husband and SUBMIT to him. If a wife disagrees, she should only express that politely and in private. He says nothing of the sort about the need of husbands to do the same for wives. He is concerned about the children not respecting the father if the wife doesn’t submit. He has no concern about the children disrespecting the mother based on the man’s behavior. It is all one way and the antithesis of equal. It's all about how women can ruin marriage and families by not submitting. Men, he suggests, should merely expect to be submitted to. No respect is expected of them, only for them. Women must give it, never expect to receive it.
Such sexist, hateful ideology. He is harmful. He is poison.

If Fox News ran a feature about Obama's reference to Stonewall and equality, it probably would have described him as supporting violent, rioting, homosexual terrorists. The Seattle footage would have been recontextualized as an example of the fall of "American values". References to "The Radical Homosexual Agenda."
Al Jezeera is officially more open minded and objective than Fox News, and Dan Savage has a problem with this.

But I thought that when someone opens fire at a public place, the best (and only truly constitutional!) way to stop it is for a real murkin gun owner to calmy draw his weapon, carefuly aim, and flawlessly put down the shooter.

@2 beat me to it. Came here to say that option 3 doesn't recognize the existence of a very real Gremlins sequel. Which was a comedy.

@7. You have no idea what you're talking about. There is no such thing as "an affordable theatre space." And plenty? Ridiculous. Theatre is an economic non sequitur. A truly "affordable" space would probably be impossible to use as even the grimiest theatre. The people who run operations like Schmee work hard and sacrifice. The spaces they use have nothing to do with being hip. It's merely about what isn't absolutely impossible to work in, and can they afford to stay open one more year, one more month, one more day. The Schmee folks sweat blood and money for decades to hold onto and to improve that great little space. This is like a family losing a home.
