I wish no ill will towards her, but her liberal bonafides are severely overstated. From the Wiki:

Since being elected to the Senate, McCaskill has consistently been named by the National Journal in its ideological rankings as one of the ten most moderate Senators.[23] In 2011, she was ranked exactly 50th on its scale of most-liberal to most-conservative.[24] The Washington Post reported in 2012 that she was the second-most-likely Democratic Senator to vote against her party.[23]

@10. Don't worry, we have plenty of young immigrants replacing our aging white population, so there is no demographic problem for us. Unless you fear the grey race.

Did you pick up the litter, or just use the litter for your own garbage post?

Its like the photojournalist who watches starving Africans die without intervening for fear of being part of the news.

The SPD advised him to go buy a gun, since they are absolutely worthless in protecting anyone.

Can we go back to what training forces you to crumple up on the ground while wearing a fanny pack full of money?

@2 Where I work, I try to write in Spanish to the back of the house. They still mess up because they're illiterate, period. No one else at my work seems to think this is a big problem.

@1 Seconded. Never even heard of that story and been reading that site for years. Hardly most famous for. Does the quality of their journalism threaten The Stranger so much, even after their closure?

Call me naive, but isn't it possible that LW1's husband is actually telling the truth? I'm not naive, he's not, but when the only acceptable answer you can hear is, "Yes, I cheated on you," that's the toxicness of the distrust right there. He's being placed in a double bind and can't possible extract himself. The fact that he cannot possibly be innocent is where I loose the benefit of the doubt.

It does sound like a revenge fantasy, and I do think her anger and responsibility issues (to who? Her children? Her own financial and social well being?) are clouding her judgment. I agree with Dan's interpretation: it sounds like she doesn't want to get her hands dirty for saving her own face. Why didn't she disclose his status to the mistress? It wasn't out of the goodness of her heart.

Its really hard to paint this as anything other than a huge victory for John Gant. May have even earned my vote. I don't think Burgess is as moderate as people sound, he's just a former cop/lawyer and sees things through that lens. Nice to have good candidates.

@4 They paid just as much money as you did. And they aren't hurting anybody. If you have a problem, then be an adult about it, offer to buy them a drink if they STFU.
