As a physician, I disagree with this advice. I have patients fall apart when they are diagnosed after being with a partner who didn't diclose. I'm not saying people should fall apart, and I work really hard to talk them down, but they do fall apart. Disclose.

As is par for the course, so many people on here cannot imagine a situation that your lover was in, so they automatically judge it to be false or immoral. It is striking to me how bad people are at putting themselves in other's shoes, not just in this instance, but in the many gray areas of life.
