I don't take him at his word when he said the pics didn't look like the real thing. He texted for 3 freaking months with no in-person contact. Something in those pics sparked a fantasy, and that's what he had in his mind's eye while he was emailing and texting. Of course she looked like a real person and not his fantasy material. The guy sounds like a douche with no dating skills, and she's probably too young to know the difference.

I thought it was illegal to expose kids to porn? The other thought I have about this is that the function of libraries is changing drastically. They are becoming community centers more and more. So the argument about not censoring content seems less appropriate.

It's so sad to hear this. I lived in Minneapolis for 10 years. Hennepin county and Minnesota's 5th congressional district is one of the bluest in the nation; represented by Martin Szabo for many years and now Keith Ellison. Anoka county is another story. And certainly wingnuts like Michelle Bachman do not fit the political profile of Hennepin county. Probably why she lives in the conservative burbs.

Those kids deserve all the protection they can get.
