Yeah, it's a copy of that.

@10
As someone who worked with the homeless for many years, I can tell you that every year we were inundated by bags and bags of hats and scarves knitted by very sweet and generous people. I can promise that no one is going to go cold this winter because the trees are wearing sweaters. Now, if someone was wrapping trees in brand new pairs of underwear, socks, bras, winter coats in all sizes and sneakers (the things shelters really need you to donate), then we'd have an issue.

@5 Also, many of us in the Pacific NW are pretty vitamin D deficient. It's not a bad idea to have your doctor check your vitamin levels the next time you do a yearly check up. Then they can prescribe the right amount.

Agreed! I know it's not the point, but DAMN! What kind of Art Director lets a book go to print with typography looking like that? The kerning alone almost lost me my breakfast.

@9 and @17,
Also, the painting of John is based on a photograph by David Entrikin, part of his encyclopedic series of portraits of homeless and formerly homeless Seattle men and women.

Thank you, Cienna. I'm heartened to see such excellent coverage of this case.

@33 Maybe the other half could be a Thomas Kinkade store. That would fit right in.

Thank you, Cienna and Stranger staff, for your continuing excellent and fair coverage of this tragedy. Already, the Times seems to have lost interest in the story. It is so important that John is remembered as the man he was and not as some two-day news item to be sensationalized and then forgotten.
