No, what bothers me is the same thing that bothers me about Glenn Beck or the Westboro lunatics or priests who abuse kids. You make decent liberals who love this country and want to improve it look ridiculous.
Interesting statement from you, Seattleblues. You also say that you like "robust and honest disagreement."
So first, would you name a few "decent liberals"--and let's make them public figures--whom you respect but also disagree with? So these should include people who don't share your opposition to same-sex marriage, abortion rights, and any of the other things that you vigorously oppose.
And second, what you write says that we have common ground with respect to Westboro Church and child-molesting priests. So how about demonstrating this by going onto threads that are about Westboro and about child molesters and instead of taking an antagonistic stand against the values most of us have that you don't share, leave them behind for the moment and join us in expressing your outrage at the Westboro group and at the pedophile clergymen?
How about it?

Hey Dominic - a government might be spying on its citizens and manipulating everyone's lives for the worse, homeless people might die of exposure to the cold, and drivers might get into fatal accidents on slick roads. Are puns really appropriate?
