Oh God, I knew this day was coming...The Stranger blog know has been cheesified into looking like every other crappy iPhone-friendly place on the internets. This sucks, but welcome to the 2010s.

Normally, I would think an event like this would be categorized under the "harmless but fun drunken incident--leave it purely to your memory". But yeah, what Dan said--the other people involved are part of your intimate circle of friends, so I think the boyfriend's got a right to know about it.
My advice would be: Re-create the event the next time you all get together, with BF there. Then you've all got a new (and perhaps even better) version of the thing to share, and no one needs to feel excluded or humiliated.
Also, @16: Fuck off.

This is why all private security companies (as in malls like this) have it in their interest to recruit young, sheltered, bigoted, and stupid white guys from Buttcrack, Idaho to join their ranks. Because it's automatic when they intervene in a scene like this that their reaction is going to be: [cue the internal red siren and buzzer] "Black man making trouble! Black man making trouble! Black man making trouble!" And the rest just takes care of itself.
Seriously, Seattleites: Boycott this shit. Protest this shit. Stand up to this shit, because you're the front line against this kind of abuse.
