commented on Poll Finds Strong Support for Creating a Seattle Metropolitan Parks District
@16--Did this little self-serving poll include the fact that once approved an MPD can levy taxes in perpetuity without a public vote? Thought not.
Will commissioners to the MPD be elected for life? If not, then if voters don't like the tax, they can toss out the old commissioners and elect a new bunch and the new bunch can change the taxes.

commented on No Wonder So Many Drivers Resent Seeing Their Tax Dollars Spent to Subsidize Transit
I used to work with a woman who was convinced that traffic jams were caused by buses being too big and taking up all the room on the road that cars could be occupying. I tried to explain to her that if the buses stopped running, that wouldn't mean that the people riding the buses would just stay home. They would drive their cars, too, and really jam up things. She was not convinced and I eventually gave up trying.
