The new Canterbury is nothing short of an abomination. The food is average and expensive and some of the servers are supremely irritating. Worse, as @1 said, it is charmless. I have no idea why they kept the name. It does have big open space and allows babies, so I can't say I'll never go there again, but I'll feel bad about it if I do.

@16 - Yes, I don't think they could be called reparations for political reasons, but another War on Poverty or something would be welcome. Correcting the years of terrible services/education we've provided as a nation would be a great project.

Prehistoric people weren't just running around in grassy meadows; there's a lot of hard ground out there. I'd suspect that many of the injuries people get from "barefoot shoes" has to do with just throwing them on and going running after a lifetime of being used to cushioned sneakers.
