I seem to remember that when all those condos went in on the waterfront by the former Waterfront Trolley tracks, BNSF had to install some ventilation in the tunnel b/c the natural breezes coming off Elliott Bay no longer ventilated it, i.e. the condos blocked the breeze.

I'm a law-abiding bicyclist commuter who regularly rides with/in traffic because it's legal and often the best way to get where I'm going.
Having said that, I rode the new bike lanes on Second yesterday both coming into and leaving downtown and I loved it. It was as if Seattle had grown up from being full of grumpy complainers to a city that's ready to behave like an adult.
And, I took two shifts out on Second yesterday and today educating pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists about this new infrastructure. I figure the more education, the better... and the less grumpiness.
