Wow, I'm agreement with eight members of the Seattle City Council! Shock horror, etc.

@132 I can see your point but...in the end I think all relationships revolve around a degree of manipulation. I guess I just don't understand the fuss over this woman's article. There's nothing very revelatory, except the angle of it being about lesbians. But, who hasn't known people that have done something similar? (involving any gender pairing) Maybe it's a big deal when you first see it happening in your teens or 20s, but by the time you hit 30 it's pretty old hat. I don't find it unusual behavior at all; people will do anything to get laid. In fact, they do things that are a lot more extreme. So I wouldn't call it creepy or stalkery either.

"In America it is not acceptable to pretend to be friends to get sex."

That has got to be the funniest thing I've read today. Let me tell ya, there are a lot of different Americas where it is not only acceptable, but taken as a matter of course.

Agree w/the other posters. Wish more cops gave out tickets to folks like you.

The bureaucratic mix up afterwards is the silly part. Not your being ticketed.

I think Obama should make Romney his running mate. They can have a big press conference. "The partisan atmosphere is ruining our country; we want to be a bridge to heal that," blah blah. Santorum can then run as the Repub nominee and run as far to the right as he wants to. Obama/Romney will sweep up the independents. Romney will reduce fears of Obama's supposed "anti-business" side, and Obama will bolster Romney's moderate views. Some people would be furious; an excellent reason for doing it to begin with.

Love is real, but it doesn't last. Not between partners, friends, or family members.

I'm with @12. I was out with someone and they kept on texting and I didn't go out with them again. Heck, if I'm at a party and someone starts texting while we're talking I walk away from them.

It's prob an age thing. The letter writer doesn't mention that.

But heck, if you get cross and yr partner accuses you of being "premenstrual" you should break up w/them anyway!

My friend paid for parking. Then returned to her car, put more $$ in, and got a new sticker. She still got ticketed. Can you not "extend" your time?
Dec 9, 2011 Moloko101 commented on Victim-Blaming Alcohol Ad Pulled in PA.
I agree w/@3 and can't see how the ads are victim blaming. If you drink too much, you can get into trouble (not just rape; being mugged, assaulted, etc).

My friend and I got mugged walking home after a show. We got mugged because it was late at night and a not very safe neighborhood. We didn't *deserve* to get mugged because we walked thru an unsafe neighborhood late at night. But the *reason* we did get mugged is because we walked thru an unsafe neighborhood late at night. It's not "victim blaming" to point out the reason why something happened to you.

I got a bottle of Gimbal Gin from Westland Distillery (in Seattle) and it was awful. I couldn't even finish the one drink I made; I threw the rest of the bottle out. I have never tasted a local alcohol (including micro brews) that I have liked as much as a major brand. Though I am open to keep trying them.
