Feb 1 patbareb commented on Seattle DIY Promoters Talk Safety in the Wake of the Ghost Ship Fire.
The scariest situation I ever saw at a club was in the 90's. Some fire performers came out for a ritual in a defunct, basement Pioneer Square club near the fire station (can't remember the name). They had torches on tall poles and the fire was right against the ceiling as they walked around. It probably only lasted 10-15 seconds but I was just staring speechless.

It doesn't save the whales or end hunger in Africa, either, so a No vote is a must!

GBTG (gotta be that guy): Odds of dying in Vietnam were around 0.5% (1 in 185), a quick perusal of the interwebs shows. Admittedly, minorities were more likely to be on the front lines, I'm assuming, so that number could go up for 'Bill'? (FYI, The Civil War was more than 3x worse than any other American war, at about 6.7% casualty rate.)
This misconception about war deaths reminds me of my sister, many years ago, telling me, "Well, I can't really be picky because so many guys got killed in Vietnam." No, close to statistically insignificant in the sad scheme of things.

Proposal - a flying class between Economy and the very expensive Business class. It'd be $100 more than economy and do nothing more than give you a few more inches of leg room. Each row of Legroom Class would bring in $600 extra for the airline so could pay for the loss of a couple of rows, right?

I'm with #16 on this one, at least regarding MS, specifically. I'm thrilled anytime I can pick up a contract there. But I see the general point about being forced to contract.
