If We Legalize Same-Sex Marriage Then Straight People Will Commit Fraud.
I got domestically-partnered so my now-husband could have health insurance. We probably would have gotten secret-married if my company at the time didn't recognize domestic partnerships. Good friends of mine actually did get secret-married about 6 months before their "real" wedding, so she could have insurance...
So yeah. Straight people do it all the time...

T-Mobile Ditches Phone Contracts Altogether.
Yeah, I use Virgin Mobile. Coverage is not great in rural areas but it's $35 a month (including taxes) for unlimited data/text and 300 min talk time (I have a landline for work reasons, so 300 min. is plenty for me). I'm not likely to start paying $90 a month (plus taxes??) any time soon.

Dear Nerds: Don't Do Blackface.
I can't speak for the Walking Dead character (because I'm only on Season 2 right now), but Paul is right that someone dressed as Geordi absolutely would not need the blackface for the costume to work (the visor and the right color uniform would be about all you'd need). There's also no aspect of race to the character at all -- the character of Geordi could have been any race, with no changes to the show/script whatsoever.
Anyways, I'm not sure it's worthy of more outrage than any number of racist things in the world that I can think of off the top of my head. But, for sure, I would never, ever use blackface myself in a costume. Yeesh.

A Pastor Would Like to Address the Controversy over His Events that "Mock" the "Orientals" and "Blacks".
I think the primary problem with this is one of understanding intent. Within the youth group, everyone understands the intent of these events -- any mockery is directed towards the stereotypes and the people (racists) that really believe them. But, in the broader community, people don't know the intent, and so it can come off as racist.
I think it's similar with jokes about racial/gender/LGBT stereotypes. It might be okay to mock the stereotypes with your close friends, because they understand that what you're really doing is mocking the racists/sexists/homophobes. But, any time there's someone present who might not 100% understand your intentions, it's usually a bad idea.
With a public event (and a public poster).... I probably would have erred on the side of "not everyone's going to understand our intent."
So yeah. Straight people do it all the time...
