The Myth of the "Surgical" Drone Strike.
The way you are describing it, it was just some spur of the moment shenanigans that carried out the WTC bombing, Philippines Air 434, Khobar Towers, Nairobi bombing, Dar es Salaam bombings, USS Cole bombing, 9/11, Bali bombing, Istanbul bombing, Madrid bombing, London bombing, Danish embassy bombing, Islamabad Marriott bombing, etc...

> Explain how the original WTC bombers weren't brought to justice?
Huh? A few of them were brought to justice, but others continued on, taking part of the planning of 9/11.
> Also, explain how it was "nothing" as if we're just innocent victims minding our own business in the 1990s.
I think you are confusing the issues here. When I said we did nothing, I meant that we allowed AQ training camps to continue. There was one attempt to kill bin Laden by firing missiles into Afghanistan and Sudan, but outside of that they pretty much continued without interference until 9/11.

@10, if you could define what that means, I might agree with you. But considering these people are in Pakistan, that would mean invading Waziristan, which I don't think is viable for a whole host of reasons, or we are back at the do nothing option. I realize that quite a few people in these forums are in favor of the do nothing approach, but I don't think that is a viable strategy, personally. In the past (and we like to learn from the past, correct?) that lead to jihad training camps in Sudan, Afghanistan, and eventually Waziristan.

@7, we actually tried the "ignore it and do nothing" strategy in the 90's. It didn't work out too well for us in the long run. I guess it's possible that AQ and affiliated groups have given up their global jihad aspirations, but I don't think there is really a lot of data to suggest this is true. But who knows.

Assuming there are Al Qaeda members in this area near the Pakistan/Afghan border and assuming that we need to somehow incapacitate them (and I realize that both of those assumptions are contested by some people), do we have any better options for dealing with this problem? If so, what are they, if Pakistan isn't willing or able to deal with it themselves?
