Not gonna lie, totally teared up at work yesterday watching this.

I'm working on my French for a trip later this year as well!
Two resources I would recommend:
1. Train your ear with an audio only course. I'm using The Flow Mimic Method that uses music really effectivly. http://www.mimicmethod.com/courses.html
2. Fluent in 3 Months is a great motivational resource with a forum full of other language learners. Like other have mentioned above, it's generally a nice thing to be able to say pleasantries in French, even if you can't have a deep philosophical conversation. http://www.fluentin3months.com/

You know what I hate being called? Guy.
As in 'Hey guys, let's do something.'
I know it's commonly accepted that guys is a gender neutral term, because language defaults to the masculine when there isn't a neutral term.
I think that just goes to show how non-neutral of a term it is.
I use everyone or you all (slipping to y'all occasionally) when talking to groups of people, because I am not a guy.

I'm working late, but my bus drops me off right outside the cafe, so I'll be able to stop in and say 'hi'.
commented on Watch Megyn Kelly Eviscerate Erick "Women Should Stay in the Kitchen" Erickson on Fox News
One of my favorite parts was when Dobbs said something like, 'It's fine for lionesses to be dominate when all is well and good, but watch what happens when the Serengeti is on fire.'
What does that even mean? I know they're pulling facts out of their butts, but I can't even imagine that analogy bearing any fruit for his argument, in any circumstance.
Megyn is strong on women's rights because she's a typical conservative and the issue affects her directly.
commented on Slog Poll: Arrested Development, Season 4
The poll options are not good for me.
I think it was a worthy addition to the AD story, but I don't think it was better than 2nd season.
By the last few episodes I was laughing so hard I had to rewind to catch what followed the joke.
I do think if we were shown the convoluted story over the course of a season or two it would have had a greater impact. Part of the joy in watching AD was the build up that we didn't even know was coming. Knowing all these episodes took place in the same kind of time frame took away some of that joy, but what they replaced it with was good for me.
I watched the whole thing by myself the first time, and I look forward to future viewings with friends, catching jokes that I'm sure I missed.
