Also, I finally broke my string of asshole boyfriends and started to enjoy dating again after I read a book called _ReEvolution: How to Date Like a Man and Get Away With It_ by Rachael Zavala. It's not really how to "date like a man" so much as date like a person with self-respect and the capacity for pleasure. I'd post a link but I don't really know how. It's easy enough to find on Amazon.

The only rule of thumb I can think of is that you shouldn't tolerate any behavior that you'd consider unacceptable in yourself. Wouldn't treat a guy the way he treats you because you're a better person than that shit? DTMFA. Kind of the golden rule in reverse.

@10 "flash mob" isn't some sort of sacred distinction. Flash mobs are usually self-congratulatory assholes doing thriller moves. This was a beautiful performance and if you don't think it deserves the elevated title of "flash mob," then so be it.

Seems like a venial sin that I can't get too worked up about--it's between him and his publishers. But I'm sort of grimly pleased. "Proust Was A Neuroscientist" irritated me so much, being full of fatuous, breathless statements along the lines of "No matter how much scientists learn about X, they will never truly unlock the eternal mystery of Y!" As if understanding things made them less beautiful. That attitude is terrible in a popular science writer.
