House of Commons Backs Same-Sex Marriage.
While a good sign, it hasn't passed the House of Commons yet. This was a vote on second reading. It still must get through floor debate and be voted on for final passage. Only then will it go to the House of Lords. It is possible (though unlikely) that it could get enough votes to get through second reading, yet stll fail after a floor debate.

RIP Arpad Miklos.
Suicide rates in Hungary (and with Hungarians outside of Hungary too) have always been extremely high. Much higher than elsewhere. The country is always in the top tier when compared to not only other European countries, but other countries around the world.

Government Looking Into Providing Large Free Public Wifi Zones.
This would have never even been proposed if the telecommunications industry had provided the same level of service, for the same price, as people in other countries get. Look at the speed of internet and the low price in places like France or South Korea. You'll see the US is still in the 20th century.

If There's One Thing the Chinese Need, It's More Coal!.
But even if "we" don't ship it out, the trains will likely roll through. If Cherry Point is not selected, or Longview, in most likelihood, the coal will be sent by rail up to BC to ship to China.
Preventing export from Washington ports will not necessarily prevent the trains from rolling through Washington.

Al Jazeera English On Stonewall.
Come on, Dan! Have you never travelled? I know you lived in London, so your being intellectually dishonest.
This is Al Jazeera English. Just because a story runs on that channel, and just because it's owned by a company (sheikh ) in Qatar, does not mean in any way that the same story aired everywere that Al Jazeera broadcasts. I'm willing to bet it only aired where Al Jazeera English airs. If you've ever watched CNN International, or BBC America, or TV5 Monde, or RT, you know that they don't just simply do voiceover of the coverage from the "mother" station. It's all programming specific to the audience to which it'll be shown. How many times do you have to see the shots of Newsweek or Time covers from around the world for the same week, with some intense, controversial story on the cover in every region, except the US region which has something stupid on the cover (trends, shows, etc).

Republicans Say the Dumbest Things.
@10 - you know what you're saying is not true, right? You may have been treated and not been required to pay, but we all pay. Everyone that has health insurance pays, through higher costs. Everyone that pays taxes in King County pays (because this is a county hospital). Anybody who goes to UW Medicine anywhere in the area pays, because they run Harborview, and ultimately any uncaptured costs will get passed on to their customers elsewhere.
There's no such thing as a free lunch. Think about it.

Republicans Say the Dumbest Things.
@5 - there is no requirement you be treated in an emergency room. There is a federal law, that an emergency room must stabilize you if you are in a life-or-death situation, regardless of your ability to pay.
What this means is: 1) the hospital will still charge you, and will likely send you to collections if you don't pay, 2) they will stabilize you, but then can pack you up and tell you to go to the county hospital, and 3) they will not treat diseases or injuries that are not life-or-death, but will send you to a county hospital.

Don't Feed the Homeless Where the Homeless Are.
As someone who works near City Hall Park (not Courthouse Patk as a prior commenter posted), that park is terrible. Essentially, only the homeless use it. And drug dealers. There's public urination and defecation as well as drug sales snd drug use. All this one block from City Hall. And last year the Council wasted time to discuss smoking abd spitting in Parks because "they need to be a healthy place for families to enjoy the outside." yea, right!
