If the courts decide that we can't have a yes-no on both ballots, I hope they at least decide to present it as two yes-no questions.

1. Should we have universal pre-school, yes or no?
2. If universal pre-school is enacted, should it be enacted and funded using Option A or Option B?

I fear that the courts will put it on the ballot as a pick 1 of 3:

1. Don't have Universal Pre-school
2. Have Universal Pre-school using Option A
3. Have Universal Pre-school using Option B

Then the no votes will win just because the yes votes will be split among the other two.

@69 I'm confused too.

Stranger, your latest article on pot ticket prices puts the cost at $27 per ticket. Here you mention $55. Some tickets are $103. Can we get some clarification on what the law is?

I typically hold back several feet from the curb until I think it will inconvenience the fewest amount of cars for me to cross. It irks me when a car stops for me making me feel like I now have to cross when I could easily have waited 10 seconds and crossed when no cars are coming.

It seems odd to me that whereas the story here is about a city official's incompetence leading to the city being bilked out of $120,000, The Stranger buries that in a story about the Seattle Times doing regular investigation and reporting of the incident.

Obama talked in a soft, almost resigned voice, giving the impression that he’d rather do almost anything else than direct Americans soldiers to return to Baghdad and northern Iraq

Ah yes, South Park's episode on warmongers and protesting is relevant again. "It's called having your cake, and eating it too."

First thoughts: Cake did I Will Survive better.

Looking forward to the rest of the album though.

@23 No kidding. Let me see if I can summarize.

Goldy: Seattle Times is going to attack the union

TheMisanthrope: But they have been attacking Boeing instead...

Goldy: I'm not listening to you

TheMisanthrope: No, really. You two are on the same side on this one.

Goldy: Go away! The Stranger doesn't want you to read it.

Everyone else: You might want to up your caffeine intake, Goldy

It took me a couple weeks after I moved to Seattle before I realized that I needed to start reading the Stranger on Thursday instead of Monday so that I wouldn't miss something over the weekend. Now that I've switched, I'd hate to read on Thursday that something is happening on Sunday only to realize that you mean 10 days from now instead of 3 days from now. 10 days is too far out. I'll forget about it by then.
