Morality does not come from religion. In many cases, morality persist *despite* religion.

My only real complaint about the Apple Maps app was the lack of public transit directions. And the 3D views and rotation were pretty slick.

The other problem is their other message: "We are your moral authorities". And that's a message that doesn't sit well with a lot of people, myself included. I could be much more easily convinced to engage in a conversation about differing views on fiscal policy if they would drop the pro-religion, anti-science, anti-choice, anti-women, anti-LGBT planks in their platform. Dropping the pro-war, pro-bloated-military bits wouldn't hurt either.

This is so so sad. My heart goes out to this poor woman's family.

I can only hope that incidents like this help people realize that the words "pro-life" are bullshit marketing fluff because the more accurate "anti-women" just doesn't sound very good.

Also, I hope her family sues the shit out of the hospital, the government, and the Catholic Church. (If that's even possible. I don't know squat about the Irish legal system)

@9 Despite the bullshit claims that various religions may have on the subject, no one is born belonging to a religion any more than they are born belonging to a political party. They are often, however, brainwashed at an early age.

Does not compute, indeed. But then, if these people had minds capable of rational thought, we wouldn't be having these arguments in the first place. :/

The choice of 29, as an odd number, also ensures that a tie in electoral votes is no longer possible (with only 2 viable candidates, anyway). I think there's something to be said for that, too.

Meh. I've seen bigger. :) Seriously, go to Burning Man or Burning Flipside. There's usually at least one oversized Jenga set somewhere.

@5 I'm with you. I thought this trailer was one of the most obnoxious pieces of 3D I've ever seen. And that includes Avatar.

@7 I meant legitimizing the Bible. Sorry if that was worded poorly.
