@15 that premise wouldn't work very well with real physics. Of course, movie physics seldom bear any resemblance to the real world so you could certainly be right.

If we're having a pool, I'll take a bribery scandal. It will be fairly brazen since after the election he'll believe he can get away with anything.

This hospital needs to train their staff better to handle these disputes. I'm not saying they were inherently homophobic, but they clearly mishandled the situation. Why not just take a few minutes to verify Rogers POA and save the hospital the PR nightmare?

@17 right, but if you use the same password for your bank as you do on donutforums.com then if a hacker gets the password hash from the latter and cracks it then your bank account is likewise compromised. Password reuse is one of the main ways to get hacked these days.

Right now I use 15 character unique random alphanumeric passwords for everything, but what happens in 10 years when processors are powerful enough to brute force 15 character hashes? Do we start using 25 character hashes instead? Why is moving this increasingly infeasible line the correct solution when we should be investigating methods of authentication that do not require users to memorize long random strings?

I personally hate the term 'partner', my would-be husband has a business partner already, it's needlessly confusing. Spouse works for me though (although we're not legally married so perhaps not completely correct). Our current legal situation make terminology kind of a quagmire.

@23 since 2010 the US has been getting negative real interest rates on government debt, we actually save money by borrowing it now rather than later, so the smart thing to do is use this opportunity to reinforce our fragile recovery with spending so that we're in a stronger position to make cuts in a stable economy when interest rates increase.
