Sounds like the SO really needs to start making different Christian friends.

I'd say the best DGW can do is find an open, loving and accepting church himself, then try bringing his SO along. I know people who succeeded with "I want to go to church with you, but we need to find a church we can both feel comfortable at".

Maybe a more formal protestant denomination (such as Episcopal, Methodist, or Presbyterian) can provide the right compromise for a religious Orthodox and a non-practicing catholic.

If he's really not interested in going to Church, he could try making friends in Christian LGBT communities and just hang out with them. Eventually the topic will come up.

Yeah... I'm with 26. I look at pictures of my dates in HS and feel uncomfortable just remembering how hot I thought they were when I was 15. I can't imagine wanting to watch myself have sex with any of them.

I don't know if its ethically gross, but I definitely find it gross.

It is good that he apologized, but there is no way to look classy after that.

It does make him look like less of an unprofessional asshole, and that's about the best he can hope for. Time to move on.

RTam @38, That was a case where a trans woman was seen in the sauna, and identified as a man. She wasn't "walking around naked", and none of the stories I've seen stated that she was nude in the sauna either. She just looks masculine enough to have been identified as a "man" without any nudity.

Yes, there is some creep factor in her story, but the bottom line is that nothing happened except people felt uncomfortable that she was there.

And really, get over seeing naked people in the locker room. The point of the locker room is a place to change clothes and shower. There's going to be some nudity involved, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, the book is more of an exposé on rich people cooking than a cookbook. This will be bought for the same reasons people watch E! and read entertainment magazines.

Still, that $300 for 3 meals is a bit of a stretch. Prices are for cans, bottles, and bags, ignoring the possibility that mostingredients can be divided up into multiple meals. Also, whatever shop she's using charges 2-3x what my local specialty shop charges. Let alone the grocery.

But hey, $300/day makes a good story.

Refreshing advice.

@21 If you look at that FB comment thread, you'll see that many men came out and said they were impressed with her site and were not at all surprised that she is a woman. In the last several hundred posts, many more men came out to chide people (and sometimes themselves) for being surprised that she was a woman than concentrated on her looks or were otherwise offensive.

You are picking the wrong people to listen to, and using them to pass judgement on the entire group while ignoring the positive examples.

I dunno, this is the same news as before. Watching the documentary will not be more uncomfortable than it was last time.

Anyway, it isn't like he was molesting young children. Sex with teenagers is creepy and stupid, but not enough to ruin my enjoyment of Elmo.

Agreed @25.

Like other institutions, the Catholic Church contains much which is good and much which is bad. If the church suddenly stopped all its humanitarian and charity work, it would be a disaster that would impact a significant portion if the world's population.

The good doesn't excuse the corruption, bigotry, misogyny, abuse hypocracy and other amoral activities promoted and protected by the institution. However, it is possible to embrace the good while working to eliminate the bad, and many Catholics are trying to do just that.

I just wish their efforts were more visible.

What are the chances the ex doesn't read her twitter feed? It's over now if it wasn't already.
